Attached to Eternity

“He has set eternity in their hearts…”

Ecclesiastes 3:11

His chest ruptured the moment He gave me breath… by His own doing. His own choosing. Shredding open the hearth of God where His heart resides, extracting His own to give me mine. It’s beating. The fleshen muscle releasing life in every extremity of the body. I’m breathing. Because He merged Himself with me.

We need eternity in our blood. Perfection in our veins, transforming dna from human consistency to a higher viscosity. Flowing from God alone.

“But there is a Spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.” Job 32:8

We need to be connected to an eternal sustainer… and everlasting life source… God Himself. To become our infinitely awakened person.

“God, the LORD, created the heavens and stretched them out. He created the earth and everything in it. He gives breath to everyone, life to everyone who walks the earth.” Isaiah 42:5

“But there is a Spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.” Job 32:8

God is the only One who can give us eternal life. No one else has the power to impart that.

In John chapter 17, Jesus prays to His Father saying…

“That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.”

John 17:21

In this passage, Jesus is praying to the Father about us, His people. The Bride of Christ. The ones who choose to be connected with Him and make Him Lord. It’s His desire that we as His people be one. But it comes through the first establishment of us being one in Him.

We cannot be one with another person until we first become one with Jesus Christ in a covenant relationship.

That is where we become a whole person.

Awakened fully to completion in our spirit and alive in every way.

Thus, we derive our lifeblood from him and will not be in lack nor in search for it to come from anyone else. We root our fulfillment in Jesus only.

Jesus is the only supernatural being who sources our supernatural being as a result.

“It is My desire they would all be one. Just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one.” John 17:22-23

God models this oneness for us, in the triune community of His personhood. God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all one in perfect harmonious connection. Tethered to each other in perfection. Holy. He is one and He wants us to be one with Him also. In harmonious connection with the Maker of Heaven and Earth.

“But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.” Philippians 3:20

When we attach our hearts to God, we attach ourselves to eternity. Where God is… and where we will be with Him forever. As one people.

The reason the world is not unified is because it lacks connection with God, its Maker.

It’s impossible for unholy people to forge a holy oneness connection.

You need God to do that.

There are many who do possess this connection with God but not every single person. Thus, the whole world at large is fragmented into those who are redeemed and eternal, and those who are dead and disconnected from God, their Maker. We will never have a holy and perfect world until this changes and the whole body of people has become one with God in each one’s personal relationship with Jesus. That is called the rapture of the church where Jesus extracts the Bride of Christ from the world, to live in this union with Him. Taken into Heaven to dwell with Jesus forever.

Therefore, each person in the body of Christ will be those who chose Jesus as their Lord freely.

Some will choose Jesus… and some will not.

God’s love gives this choice to every person He created… and it’s heartbreaking I would think… for God. To create people knowing some will never choose to be with Him. To have to let go of the ones who forsake Him not because He wants to but because He lets them say no to Him… it’s a tumultuous love for God to carry the world on His shoulders. And He is so worthy of being this love for us, doing whatever was neccessary for us to choose Him. He let His own body be mangled for us… there is nothing more He can do for the ones who simply don’t want to have connection with Him.

But there is a greater heartbreak for those who reject God because their wholeness is forfeit and their eternal offer of life never claimed.

Don’t be the one who rejects living forever… don’t ignore God’s love tugging on your heart to give you a new one fully pumping with blood and vitality that never stops.

God wants you to be one with Him… and in turn, one with each other. Cultivating beneficial and enriching relationships with those in your life as well.

How do we become one?

Jesus tells us in John 17 that we must first become one with God.

By first becoming one with Jesus.

“I in them and You in Me…” Jesus clarifies. Jesus in us makes us holy. Thus, salvation makes us holy. The indwelling Spirit of God makes us holy. That’s it. The only way.

I’m reminded of the survival mechanism of symbiosis. It’s found in nature between organisms where each one in the union feeds off of the other for survival. Connected to one another. Never detached from the other. Forever in partnership with the other. It’s a fascinating reality God crafted in the ecosystem. It derives from His own symbiosis of the trinity. And our need for symbiosis with God.

A symbiotic relationship where two entities depend on the other for survival is how we depend on God for survival. However, God does need us to survive. But we do need Him… in every way.

We cannot form a symbiotic relationship with another human and expect to survive. No human can be our life source. They are meant to be our object of blessing not taking. But a supernatural God can be our life source. In fact, He is the ONLY life source there is!

God is your heartbeat.

Your pulse.

Your very life.

We need God tethered to us like the ecosystem needs to be bound with its mate to survive.

God is the one who keeps us alive. Breathing. Functioning. Thriving. Elevating. Traversing into greater spheres where He is.

God is our sustainment.

The only sustainment.

He wants us to be bound with Him. One with Him.

In this passage of John 17:20-23, Jesus states 4 times that His desire is for us to be “one.”

I’m reminded of the 4 directions of a compass. North. South. East. West. In every direction under the son we venture, there is only one way that leads to Heaven. Only one way that leads to life and that is Jesus Christ. All the 4 ways will be merged into one as we ascend into Heaven with the Lord forever.

Jesus says that He will gather His Bride from the 4 winds…

“That they all may be one…” Jesus says…

“Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earthwill mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.  And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.” Matthew 24:30-31

It’s His desire that there be no more scattering of His flock, as the scripture said would happen after His crucifixion. There is coming a day where He will come to regather His flock. And altogether we will journey with Jesus to the New Heaven and New Earth.

When we become one spirit with God, we are forever eternal and never in shortage or need for something other than God to fulfill us.

He infuses wholeness into our blood.

Attaching us to eternity forever.

You will experience the happiness you desire when you let God light your soul on fire with His love. Be one with Him, just like He came to do for you.

“Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides You.” Psalm 73:25

It’s an honor to follow the Lord in every way… navigating the temporal space of human life with God the best we are able because of His Holy Spirit empowering us. He is with you… giving you everything you need, as 1 Peter 1:3 says, to seek Him, know Him, follow righteousness and godliness. So that your joy may be complete.

“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.” 1 John 5:3

It feels good to follow God.

To be one with Him.

I want you indwelling me Jesus…

Take up residence in the space where Your name has authority to mark me, brand me, seal me with Your love unlike anyone has ever done. We want Your presence all consuming us, invading us, connecting us to You… for You are God. And God is our hope forever.

“Lord, you are everything I need. I have promised to obey Your words.” Psalm 119:57

He is our only life source.

We must be one with God to live forever.

This is crucial to understand: we cannot be one as a body of people, as the Bride of Christ, His church… until we have first become One with God. That is the only pathway to union with God and with each other.

Do you want to have meaningful relationships with others?

Become one with God.

Do you want to love from a place of overflowing and delight?

Become one with God.

Do you want to experience the joy of human connection?

Become one with God.

God wants us to have meaningful relationships with one another. But it’s only possible if we first attach ourself to Him. He is the only God. The only Savior. The only fulfillment of what we long for. The sustainer and perfector of our souls. If we go to another person for our needs we will never find the nourishment we were designed for.

You cannot become one with another person until you are fully alive yourself and that comes from being one with God.

Your relationships are only as strong as you are.

Your union with others is only as healthy as your union with God.

Two broken people unredeemed and disconnected from their Maker will never have a flourishing relationship, because you will be constantly looking to another human person to be enough for you… and they can’t be. They are not meant to.

Two people fully committed to God, their Maker will experience a gratifying, pleasurable relationship with one another because they have rooted their completion in God first.

Only God can be enough for you.

Don’t get attached to anything but God.

It’s so important to understand this principle of God being our only fulfillment because without this anchored truth, a human can look for fulfillment in anything but God and never find it. The devil wants to tell you… is God really enough? Surely you need… in order to be happy… fulfilled… enough… satisfied… Reject those lies.

Attach yourself to God first, and then you will gain access to the soul abundance you need in order to love the people in your life well.

Attachment is only as profitable as the object of that attachment. If you get attached to another person so that you need their life in order for you to feel life, it will fail you. No person is capable of being that for you nor me.

God is the only eternal life source able for us to attach to.

Your loved ones will be glad when you choose to love God first and not place your wellbeing on them only… then you can live fully complete, not depending on others to fulfill you.

Instead you will be a conduit of overflowing replenishment to the people around you.

And you will gain insight from the Holy Spirit about what they need and how you can love them, so that you can act on that in a way only the Spirit of God can prompt.

“When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come.” John 16:13

You become a better people lover the more you love Jesus first.

Get attached to God… and watch your heart soar. Weightless and light from the Spirit who carries you. Not burdened by anything nor overcome by whatever life throws. You soar above the world’s cares when you let God be your completion.

God has exactly what you need to come to life…

let Him be the breath in your lungs….

A breath that will never stop breathing into you…

Life is beautifully enriching when you establish God as your supreme love.

Then our relationships can flourish as a result. Our dreams and goals can come to fruition. Our days find meaning because we have anchored our reason for living in something higher than this world has to offer… the King of Heaven… our eternal destiny… life with God forever. That is what you were created for my friends.

Get attached to God and you live forever.

Get attached to God and you never stop breathing in and breathing out. The air of God where love is found.

He is our completion.

“But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him.” 1 Corinthians 6:17

One spirit with God…

I want to be one spirit with You

ever existing because of You

ever flourishing because of You

He fills me to the brim

and over the edge

of a waterfall

soaring into the atmospheric

wonder

of His awe

He is our completion.

Attach yourself to the Lord… and you never stop breathing in and breathing out… the air of God where wholeness is found.

Attach yourself to God and eternity floods into your soul…

Become one with God and live forever.

when you touch me

I breathe in a different air

than I did before

I feel the core

of my soul

come alive

when I’m inhaling more

of Your soul’s desire

for Me

nowhere else I want to be

but with You

and I’ll always be

with You

My King

made complete

“And you have been made complete in Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.” Colossians 2:10
