“You crossed the line, Leafe!”

Water gushes between my feet as I stand across from Captain Leafe, overlooking the cliff’s edge. I figured I would find him here. The waterfalls are his oasis.

I stare at his emerald wings shining brightly like my father made them to. Light is supposed to be his mantra. An ever-present motivation for everything he does in the universe. He should have known better. Lilly is not an object to be played with nor a flower he can explore. She is off limits to every angel but me.

Confronting him now is the last thing I should have to address. He should be my right-hand angel. My confidant. But it seems Lilly’s beauty is too much for him to withstand.

“Maybe you should keep your eyes on your girl,” Leafe says boldly.

“You forget whose kingdom you fly in, Captain!” My wings rise and I soar closer to him on the waterfalls’ edge. He looks back at me with a solemn face, reluctant to divulge his intentions. “Last time I checked, you were under my Command!”

Leafe’s eyes flare with emerald, green flames.

“Then why did you leave her!?” he asks concerned.
