The Sapphire Road

what enchants you
beyond
the sunset setting
on the sea

what awaits you
beyond
the windows framing
in the deep

go and see
the mysteries
feel and breathe
the tapestries
of Spanish moss
in cypress trees
where libraries
adorn the streets
along the road
to Pyrenees
peaks
ascending

the wonder is unending

discover the world
with Me
He says
go where you’ve
never been
with Me

highest mountains
Trevi fountains
rivers harbored
in the sky

wildest oceans
Greece in motion
islands charter
you and I

occupy
His soul’s delight

beautify
the starry night
in exploration

fly away with Me
He says

I want to
go where I’ve
never been
with You

He told me where He
wanted to go
I listened
and followed
the sapphire road
He beckoned
the Heavens
to carry me so
He can
carry me
swiftly
to treasures afloat
in passionate love

passionate love

the stairway

to Heaven’s touch

come away with Me
My love

we journey away
to a secret place
where only the Spirit
can hear and taste
an impartation
of Heaven ablaze
You take us higher
we feel and gaze
the wonders of earth
in the glory
You made

Jesus, You are
the wonder of the world

show us You
in every horizon
glowing in view
of every delighted
garden invited
to bloom
by Your
hands
venturing into
divine romance
uncharted

He takes me farther
than I’ve ever been
unbreaks the waters
in the winter wind
of snowfall
crowned
in porcelain
like opals found
in quaint Berlin
gold wholly melds
together again
in kisses
emerging
atop
the
heights
of Paris

towering over me
I feel it every hour
You’re shining over me
King of Kings

take me anywhere

I want to see the world with you

“And they saw the God of Israel. Under His feet there was something like a pavement made of sapphire, clear like the sky itself.”

Exodus‬ ‭24:10‬ ‭

“And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, that they could travel by day and by night.”
