Scandalous love. Reckless obsession. God’s own devotion. Jesus’ heart woken to pine for your love… His love is the scandalous love.
Dandelions float in the wind and fly upward at the movement of His presence in motion. When His body became a token of atonement for me. For you. My King shows me there is nothing He won’t do to have me. I am His one obsession.
Jesus loves you this much… to leave Heaven for you… to part with perfect Zion for you… to go through Hell for you… to die for you… and incur death for you… even though we fall short of His perfect standards. God knew we would. He planned it from the beginning that Jesus would die for the sins of mankind and He knew we would not be able to resist the temptation of evil. But we needed to give in, in order to be able choose God freely.
God is not intimidated by our sin nor overwhelmed by the reality of the curse of man. He knew it would happen. Evil already existed in the universe before we ever let sin enter the garden of Eden. God needed us to choose if we wanted it to be a part of our lives or not. And through being exposed to it, we are faced with the question: do you want God or not? Do you want evil or good? Now, we all experience the presence of sin in our lives, but when we desire Jesus we also desire good and the evil is able to purged and cleansed by Jesus’ own atonement on the cross for us.
“And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.” Romans 5:11
Reconciliation is a big deal. It means able that we, who once had a broken and severed relationship with God because of our sin, now have a perfect and whole relationship with Him. Because of one sacrifice. We need this reconciliation. Everyone needs it. Every human needs salvation and restoration to be given to us from Jesus. And we cannot give this to ourselves. We need it from the Lord.
Humankind is depraved at birth and separated from a holy God from the start. But thanks to be God who gives us the gift of reconciliation throught His Son Jesus Christ! We cannot reconcile ourselves to God without this sacrifice of Jesus’ body and blood, making us pure.
Everyone needs God’s Son Jesus to connect to a holy God.
“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” Romans 3:23
A standard exists. A perfect one. One that requires God’s people to live according to righteouesness and purity. One that asks us to live according to Heaven’s paradigm in a world where both darkness and light resides. Because this gives us freedom and joy to live purely. Purity is the key to a guilt-free conscience and a love-filled heart. This is what we are destined for.
How do we live up to God’s standard?
We allow Christ to stand in our place for us.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is is not from yourselves, it is a free gift from God.”
Ephesians 2:8
When you experience the insurmountable gift of grace lavished on you, it changes how you see Jesus’ love for you. It deepens and widens. It lifts you off the ground and reminds you God has you in His hands. You fall more in love with God… and you want to turn around from your sin.
“The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.” Psalm 103:8
Grace motivates purity.
Grace motivates integrity.
Grace makes you want to follow in His footsteps of lovingkindness and passionate purity.
Grace motivates transparency. Because you have no fear of what anyone thinks of you. The God who has the power to renew you into an immortal being already forgave you. No one else’s opinion matters.
Leaders must lead by receiving grace from God in order to thrive spiritually and lead effectively.
Ignoring sin only ensures it festers in secret. Don’t allow yourself to fall into that trap!
“Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.” Psalm 32:5
Transformation power rises from confessing our sins to the Lord and being renewed.
2 Timothy 2:9 says, “He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.” Grace is God’s design. It’s His idea. It’s His joy. He likes to give you grace. He likes to give you purity again and point you the right direction.
God loves you and He is not frightened by your sin nor surprised. He knew it before you knew it would happen. And He knows how to lead you if want to be led by Him. Keep a open heart fully known by the Lord and be comfortable talking to the Lord about your life. He already knows and He wants to have that intimate connection with you.
I love David’s confidence to say, “I did not cover up my iniquity.”
How can David feel so comfortable talking to a holy God about his sin?
He knows this holy God so intimately that He knows He is loved by this holy God and nothing will keep God from loving Him. He knows God desires to talk to him about anything and everything, especially sin. Because God is the only one who cleanse it and make us free. So why would we not want to talk to God about it? He is the exact one who we should talk to about it.
You have the right to feel comfortable talking to God about your sin. Open up to Him.
Don’t cover up your iniquity.
Don’t cover up your iniquity.
Don’t cover up your iniquity.
Again I say… don’t cover up your iniquity.
Be honest with God and with those who are close to you and care about you. This step is essential to our spiritual growth and freedom. You will feel a deep release in your heart when your uncover your iniquities and sins to the Lord and let people know what is truly going on. There is no shame and there is no condemnation. This is a safe step for a believer of Jesus Christ.
The world may feel afraid to uncovering their sins but we do not trust in the world, we trust in a gracious and merciful Savior who gave His life for this exact sin. The sin you are struggling with… that is Jesus EXACT reason for dying! He loves you! He understands! Let Him close to you and trust His kindness over you no matter what others think, God is the one who affirms you and you are not abnormal for struggling with sin.
Sin is normal for a human being but we do not have to stay in it. It is possible to grow more and more so that the overall trajectory is upward, not downward. New not repetitive. Restored. Changed. Free. Liberated.
This is the beauty of Jesus Christ. He takes our sin struggles and He transforms it into freedom and change. Then he uses it as a testimony.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
True leaders help others out of their sin because of their testimony of renewal. Leaders who hide their sin and project perfection distort Christology: the very foundation of our faith that Jesus came to save human beings into an eternal relationship with Him through forgiveness of sin.
Place your trust in Jesus Christ and follow Him, not man. Then you will experience deeper relationships in community with others who want the same. Jesus Christ is our Savior.
Come to life and stay alive forever… through Jesus Christ.

“There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Acts 4:12
