Work For God

God is looking for a king after His own heart.

“And Jesse sent for David and brought him in. Now David was ruddy and had beautiful eyes and was handsome. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him, for this is he.”
‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭16‬:‭12‬ ‭

David was working out in the sheep fields when Samuel came looking for the next king. God chose a man after His own heart and zeal to lead all of Israel. For this king symbolizes His own reign. God wants someone who will remain connected to Him at all times and lead from hearing God’s voice and obeying it. Your relationship with Jesus is essential to your calling. Your work ethic cultivates your readiness.

David’s faithfulness began in the sheep fields and continued as he stepped up to take on Goliath when no one else would.

“And David said, “The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!” 1 Samuel‬ ‭17‬:‭37‬ ‭

David shows himself to possess the traits of a king long before he steps into that role.

God knows how to find you where you are and elevate you to your calling. Your faithfulness today trains your for your destiny.

Jesus said in Luke 16:10, “One who is faithful in little is faithful in much.”

God chooses kings and queens who do everything as unto Him.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬-‭24‬
