Lay On The Altar – Part 7

Part 7

Lay your love on the altar. This is where breakthrough happens.

“Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭22‬:‭1‬ ‭

In Genesis 22, Abraham travels to a mountain led by God’s voice and commands. God has a test for Abraham here. God wants to see if he loves him more than his son, Isaac.

God tests those He loves. God’s tests are tailor-made, to make you stronger in your love and maturity, and to release you from what tethers you and overcomes you. Freedom from the flesh is our liberation to live by the Spirit.

Abraham exudes peace within himself the whole way up. He knows deep inside that God will not take his son, Isaac, from Him. So he obeys with the foresight of God’s intervention.

“Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” So the two of them went together.” Genesis‬ ‭22‬:‭8‬ ‭

Go on the word of God.

Trust His heart. Trust His character.

God wants to know you love Him more, and He wants you to see it too, within you, to remind you God is your highest love.

“And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”♥️ Genesis‬ ‭22‬:12

God redirects your course of action when He sees you love Him more than anything and when He sees you can be trusted. Abraham listened to the Lordship of God and obeyed. So his son, Isaac, is spared. Now Isaac will never forget the way His Father trusted the Lord. This sets an example for Isaac, Jacob, and the sons and daughters after him.
