Duty Over Beauty – Part 4

Part 4

God’s people radiate beautifully. But we trust in the Lord to move on our behalf. We don’t trust only in our beauty. Our beauty was given by God but it is not what we use to advance. We rely on Jesus’ power.

“And your renown went forth among the nations because of your beauty, for it was perfect through the splendor that I had bestowed on you, declares the Lord God.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭16‬:‭14

When duty calls, we must accept God’s mission and do what it takes to get the job done.

“Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.”
‭‭Esther‬ ‭4‬:‭16‬ ‭

Queen Esther relies on God. She does not rely on her surpassing beauty in order to get favor from the King. She fasts, so that she can pray to the Lord for Him to do a miracle. She knows what fasting will do to her appearance but she is not concerned with her body. She relies upon God to give her favor. And He does. When the King sees her, he grants her what she requests.

“And when the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court, she won favor in his sight.”
‭‭Esther‬ ‭5‬:‭2‬

The King’s eyes love Esther because she trusts in the Lord.

What do your eyes see when you look at a beautiful woman? At a beautiful man? Their appearance? Or their heart?

Love always sees beauty in its beloved, both inside and out, and keeps pursuing their heart forever.

Beauty is defined by God’s radiance on us.
