Jesus Is Worth Waiting For

Wait for it… The eyes that look back at you with love. The heart that dives down to earth for love. The spirit that beckons you with love. God stirs His people to call upon Him because He has more to say, more to do, and more to show us from His heart. Life flourishes in Jesus.

Wait on His presence, for He is the most priceless gift of all. He knows how to speak to your heart in your time of need.

“Call to Me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” Jeremiah 33:3

The treasure chest of God’s love glimmers for you. Wait for Him. Seek Him. Remain in Him.

“Now when Jesus returned, the crowd welcomed Him, for they were all waiting for Him.” Luke 8:40

People wait for Jesus.

Keep waiting on His arrival.

Jesus is worth waiting for.

When Jesus arrives on the scene in Luke 8, everyone finds the one their soul is looking for. The crowds go so far as to press in on Him because they have needs, ailments, and emergencies they want Him to meet. What I love about Jesus is He always stops for the one who approaches Him needing healing.

“And there came a man named Jairus, who was a ruler of the synagogue. And falling at Jesus’ feet, he implored Him to come to his house, for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. As Jesus went, the people pressed around Him.” Luke 8:41-42

Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue, was not too proud to fall at the feet of Jesus when he had an emergency.

Jesus, The Ruler of the universe, delights in our persistent tenacity to ask for His help.

Jesus is never inconvenienced by a need. He makes Himself accessible anyone who comes to Him.

Jairus knew only Jesus could help him in this crisis because he did not have the resources to heal his daughter on his own. So, he “implored” Jesus.

The word for “implored” in the Greek text is “parakaleo.” It means to summon, to call to one’s side, to comfort, or to beg for help. As Jairus summons Jesus for help, this brings joy to Jesus because it lets Jesus know that Jairus wants Jesus on his side. He trusts Jesus. And Jesus loves to be called upon by His people when they need Him.

God wants you to call upon Him.

He loves when you ask Him for help.

He wants you to show Him you have the courage to ask Him for what you need.

In Genesis 26, Isaac calls upon the name of the Lord and honors him as he makes his camp.

“So he built an altar there and called upon the name of the Lord, and pitched his tent there; and there Isaac’s servants dug a well.” Genesis 26:25

Isaac honored the Lord wherever He went. We want to honor the Lord everywhere we go. We want to include Him in everything we do. We want to keep Jesus in every moment of our lives. We live for Him and we wait for His presence to be with us.

Jesus is the one all people were designed to follow.

I want to follow the Lord all the days of my life.

“Because He has inclined His ear to me,
Therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live.” Psalm 116:2

Lean on Jesus forever.

Your personal relationship with Jesus grants you what you are searching for.

Your love connection with Jesus deepens your relationship.

Your persistence to talk to Jesus and be proactive in kindling that relationship will unveil more knowledge of who Jesus is to you. If you want to know how Jesus sees you, ask Him and let Him tell you. If you want to know what Jesus would do, ask Him and He will tell you. If you want to gain wisdom from Jesus, ask Him and He will tell you.

The stronger your connection with Jesus, the more victory you will see in your life.

“For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.” Romans 6:14

Grace washes you like rain on a summer day, refreshing the senses. Jesus carries you through every season because you are loved by the God who knows you.

Jesus is worth waiting for.

The ruler of a synagogue in Luke 8 waited for Jesus to do what only He could do, despite what the others thought.

“While He was still speaking, someone from the ruler’s house came and said, “Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the Teacher any more.” Luke 8:49

It’s over, they thought. Why are you asking Jesus for help, they said. But Jairus believed Jesus could heal her even when others did not.

“But Jesus on hearing this answered him, “Do not fear; only believe, and she will be well.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭8‬:‭50‬

Jesus goes on to heal Jairus’ daughter all because Jairus waited upon the Lord to do what only He could do.

I wait on You, Lord

the One I hope for

the One I live for

the One I sing for

it’s You, Lord

the One we wait for

the One we adore

forever let our hearts implore

You love is all we could ask for

“Behold, I Am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.” Revelation 22:7
