Lilies float on the river effortlessly. Raindrops fall from the sky naturally. The supernatural hands of God hold all of it powerfully with ease because everything lives free in His presence. Creation exists how God made it to exist. It does not need to transform into anything other than what God instilled in its molecular composition. It’s innate identity is perfect. Just how God made it.
God knows you and sees through you, inside and out, and guess what? He is crazy in love with you. There is nothing hidden in love.
Love liberates its lover to be freely themselves and ascend because the lover is tethered to God, their Creator.
Jesus wants us to be ourselves with Him.
In Mark 3, Jesus gives two disciples nicknames tied to their personalities.
“James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James (to whom He gave the name Boanerges, that is, Sons of Thunder).” Mark 3:17
James and John could be themselves around Jesus and Jesus loved who they were. So, He acknowledges particular attributes by calling them “Sons of Thunder.”
Jesus not only sees all you are, but He acknowledges all you are and honors all you are because He is the God who chose you to be His. He loves you and this love will never be forsaken.
God’s love for you is not based on your accomplishments, your title, and your accolades. Yet He does honor you for what you have accomplished for Him and you are worthy of that recognition from Him. He is the one who sees your heart and all you have done that no one else sees. His love for you is as infinite as time itself.
If you have to change who you are to be accepted, it is not love.
If you have to be someone else to be loved, it is not pure.
You attract real love when you are yourself.
God can fall in love with you for real because He sees the real you and knows what He is getting when He steps into relationship with you. Even more, God goes beyond just getting into relationship with you. He pursues you first. God begins the relationship and wins you to his heart because He sees you for all you are and wants you.
“We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19
Be yourself with God, so you can experience the liberation of being fully loved for every part of you.
Be yourself with God and you get delivered from everything that wages war against you on the inside.
“Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!” Psalm 139:23-24
God holds you in the palm of His hands and He asks you to transparent with Him about what He already knows. This deepens your relationship with one another.
“But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?” Genesis 3:9
God knew where Adam and Eve were but He wanted them to talk to Him. God desires mutual interaction, friendship, and communication.
You can confide in God because He knows all of you. You can cultivate relationship with God because He understands the inner world of your life. He wants to know everything and hear you tell Him everything. Be you.
There is no pressure in His love. Only presence. Presence of the Most High God. Love from the King of Heaven and Earth. You can be yourself with God because He wants you to be. He likes who He created you to be. He likes your personality, your shape, your heart, your soul, your characteristics, your interests, your thoughts and every single thing that makes you who you are. already knows you anyways. So His love is based on all you are and His acceptance of all you are.
Hebrews 13:8 says “Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever” which means He will never change the way He feels about you. When He says He loves you, this is an unchangeable truth. He loves you. Forever…
You don’t have to hide with God. You don’t have to restrict communication with Him or watch what you say. He listens to all of it and loves all of it. He knows you become all you want to be by being close to His proximity. His love influences your heart and soul to experience life in living color.
“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16
