Desert rain saturates the air like wet clay at the potter’s wheel. Breathe in… breathe out… the fragrance of monsoon thunder coats the raindrops like cologne. You won’t need it… any kind of fragrance… when the wind blows leaves aflutter into a cyclonic sky. Its intuition tells it to give in to the upsweep carrying it up to Heaven.
The dusk melts with pink and salmon shades of sunset aromatic with cedar and lavender.
Time waits for the moment to linger.
Time freezes for the moment to last.
God scans the earth for hearts alert to the imminence of His presence.
God reaches for souls expecting His return.
New Heaven beckons its people to its dwelling, as Jesus prepares for earth’s reaping.
God reigns patient with the earth, giving every soul the chance to choose Him as Lord.
“The Lord isn’t really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.” 2 Peter 3:9
God waits patiently because of love.
God acts with patience in carrying out His promise so that He gains more souls in the process.
God’s patience for humanity gives eternal life to every soul who desires it.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-6
God rejoices in His true Beloved. The one who adores Him. True love is the desire of His heart.
God is willing to wait for true love.
We wait on You, Jesus, to return for us. The Bride of Christ.
“But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.” Romans 8:25
God is patient for our sake, 2 Peter says. He does not need to be patient for His own sake. We are the ones who need His patience because of our own delays and hesitations that would inhibit all people from receiving perfect love. Jesus’ love. Thus, God is patient so that all people have time to choose Him and those who love Him partner with Jesus in seeing the world redeemed by His salvation. When God works a miracle, He waits patiently for as many eyes to be on Him as possible.
God’s patience benefits us because it gives more time to those who need it. God’s patience with people gives us more time to share the gospel with everyone on the earth.
“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.” Colossians 3:12
God’s chosen ones wear the attributes of His Holy Spirit. Our hearts were designed to reflect Him. The more we seek Jesus, the more we absorb His heart, compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience because we are His holy beloved.
God takes His times with His chosen Beloved.
God patiently waits for His Beloved to listen to His love.
God patiently waits for His Beloved to say yes to His love.
God patiently waits for His Beloved to get ready for Him.
God does not mind to wait on His Beloved. God knows what to do to get His Beloved ready. God woos you to Himself and makes His presence known. God pursues us with affection that so far outweighs every other lover and draws us to Him like a magnet. His arms outstretch for you.
God wants His Beloved ready, no matter how long the process takes. He takes you on a journey of maturation and beautification in the Spirit that satisfies His heart’s fire for you like a flame of love that keeps burning through the night. God walks with you through every step of life and He loves the beauty of your journey, making you more like Him every day.
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Philippians 1:6
God wants forever with you.
God does not want anyone to lose out on eternity. Peter knew this from Jesus, which is why He says of Jesus: “He does not want anyone to be destroyed,” in verse 9. Hell only exists because people choose that they do not want any association or connection with Jesus. God “wants everyone to repent” as Peter says in verse 9, so that we can understand our sin nature separates us from Him. This is a reality everyone must acknowledge.
Humanity is depraved and in need of a Savior. The only way to salvation is to admit we need saving and give our broken lives to a perfect God. So, God is patient with everyone and leads every heart into the knowledge of Jesus as their only hope.
Humanity is redeemed and made whole by Jesus’ blood, and it requires the decision of each and every heart to make that choice. Jesus died for everyone to have the same opportunity to choose Him as Lord.
We don’t want to take this lightly. This is serious and vital to our eternal destiny.
“Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?” Romans 2:4
Kindness leads us to repentance. Jesus is a kind and loving God, speaking the sunlight to shine upon the dawn and breathing the stars into the night to glow the earth. Jesus created the world in its beautiful scenery and its unique animals, to showcase the expanse of His creativity. He does not outburst with anger and rudeness. And when He does show anger and frustration, it stems from humanity’s refusal to come to Him and follow Him.
King David speaks about God’s love saying this…
“The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.” Psalm 103:8
He is the God you want to say yes to.
He is the God you want to give your heart to.
wait for the King
wait for the King
Heaven and earth echo
wait for the King
His love is fire
His love is true
the wait is
worth it
His heart pines for you
God has been waiting for this moment where He ushers in His Bride to New Heaven from the beginning of time in the garden of Eden. His patience will not be in vain. His patience will give Him the fruit of His time, as God enjoys His bride forever in infinite love.
Drip drop falls the rain on the window pane of God’s Beloved. She waits for Him as He waits for the day to claim her as His forever Bride. He’s coming. The Son of God. And all will see the fire in His eyes for her of passionate eternal love.
