Embrace the unexpected. Jesus always has a plan in mind, for better than we could imagine. His sovereignty allows Him to show up any time and anywhere. When Jesus walks in the room, His presence captivates us. His Spirit liberates us with rejuvenation only He can give. He is the coming King, the blessed Messiah, the Word made flesh to dwell among us. He came once to save us from sin and He is coming again to whisk away into glory.

Jesus is coming. The hour draws near. The moment moves closer. Every second. Every minute. We get closer to Jesus coming back for us.

When Jesus arrived on the earth, no one expected Him to show up when He did. The prophecies foretold His arrival. The promise of the seed of the woman coming forth to crush the seed of the serpent still held true. But only God Himself knew the moment He planned to step into His creation. So, He came when He planned to. Soon, He is coming again.

“Look, I Am coming soon! Blessed are those who obey the words of prophecy written in this book.” Revelation 22:7

Jesus’ words unleash blessing. We are blessed when we hope in the promise of His second return. He gives us something to hope in. Love is worth the wait of its Beloved’s return.

“He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!” Revelation 22:20

In Matthew 24, Jesus unfolds what will happen at His second coming.

“And He will send out His angels with the mighty blast of a trumpet, and they will gather His chosen ones from all over the world—from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.” Matthew 24:31

Jesus is coming back when we least expect it. Therefore, we wait for Him with eager anticipation.

“You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.” Matthew 24:44
