The reign of perfect love permeates Jesus. His heart beats with endless fervor. His spirit irises to revive His Bride. His life exists to make us immortal.

Jesus reigns as King forever, whether on earth as a baby or in Heaven as the King. The same blood runs through His veins. He lives to reign.

“All right then, the Lord Himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call Him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).” Isaiah 7:14

King Jesus reigns to give us life.

King Jesus reigns to love you.

Just a glimpse of the King lifts your eyes onto Heaven. Just a moment of His fiery eyes sets your heart ablaze. Just a taste of His goodness heals your soul deep within. Just a spark of His voice invokes the Holy Spirit’s beauty.

In Luke 2, Jesus is blessed in the temple after he is born. Simeon finds Him and discerns the magnitude of who He is.

“That day the Spirit led him to the Temple. So when Mary and Joseph came to present the baby Jesus to the Lord as the law required, Simeon was there. He took the child in His arms and praised God, saying, “Sovereign Lord, now let your servant die in peace, as you have promised. I have seen your salvation, which you have prepared for all people. He is a light to reveal God to the nations, and He is the glory of your people Israel!” Luke 2:27-32

Simeon’s lifelong prayer was to glimpse the Messiah. Not only did he get to see Jesus, but he held Jesus in his arms and spoke a blessing over Him. This encounter with Jesus completed him on the inside. Jesus does that when you behold Him. It’s the simplicity of His peace and the complexity of His majesty that leaves you whole in His presence. You want nothing more than to be with Him. Always. Forever. Eternally. Never apart from Him.

Jesus is the one our hearts are made for.

Your heart catapults to life from Jesus’ presence with you.

Jesus’ birth signifies the beauty of passionate love in motion.

Passionate love goes where no one else goes to save the one no one else could save. Passionate love captures its beloved’s heart and keeps it. Passionate love reels in and reigns in its lovers heart to belong to Him. Passionate love births freedom of eternal Zion. Peace. Bliss. Excitement. Joy unfurling like ribbons from a lavender sky.

Before Jesus is blessed in the temple as a baby, the shepherds hear about Jesus arriving in Luke 2. An angel appears to them and immediately they go to tell everyone what had been spoken. The word of the Messiah’s arrival was a message they did not want to stay silent. It needed to be heard.

“After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child.” Luke 2:17

Speak Jesus’ greatness.

Sing of Jesus’ love.

Dream of Jesus’ Heavens.

Jesus is the King, and He will always be the King. Both in the manger and in Zion, Jesus is King. Forever, He is clothed with worth and glory in His identity as God.

Our identity is wrapped up in the claim of our Savior on us. The one who chose us.

Mary was wrapped up in Jesus.

“All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished, but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often.” Luke 2:18-19

Jesus reigned as King in Mary’s heart, even as a baby. Her love for Jesus impacted her heart so deeply that she held every moment as a treasure, thinking about every miracle of this love.

Jesus’ reign is a reign of deliverance. Liberation. Emancipation. Redemption. Restoration. Perfection.

Isaiah foretells Jesus’ birth and reign, saying…

“For you will break the yoke of their slavery
    and lift the heavy burden from their shoulders.
You will break the oppressor’s rod,
    just as you did when you destroyed the army of Midian.
⁵ The boots of the warrior
    and the uniforms bloodstained by war
will all be burned.
    They will be fuel for the fire.

⁶ For a child is born to us,
    a son is given to us.
The government will rest on His shoulders.
    And He will be called:
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:4-6

Jesus will reigns over the whole universe and His government will be pure and holy. New Heaven and New Earth will launch the genesis of infinity planned from ages long ago to inaugurate the Kingdom of God with all His people there with Him.

Jesus’ love reigns forever.

Jesus’ kindness reigns forever.

Jesus’ accessibility reigns forever.

Jesus’ empathy reigns forever.

Jesus’ passion reigns forever.

Jesus’ beauty reigns forever.

Jesus’ perfect, worthy essence will reign forever and we will reign with Him as His chosen people meant for glorious Heaven with our Savior. Jesus treasures you as His own. Jesus adores you as His beloved. Jesus inclines to meet you where you are because He is captivated by you. Revere Him as King forever, knowing He is the God who comes close.
