God feels desires. Pure desires. Passionate desires. Holy desires. Confident desires. The depths of His heart vocalize the desires of His heart to be loved and cherished by you. God tells you He wants to be adored.
“Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given Me, may be with Me where I am, to see My glory that you have given Me because you loved Me before the foundation of the world.” John 17:24
Jesus desires our presence to be with Him in Heaven. Jesus desires us to see His glorious identity. Jesus desires to share eternal life with us.
God has desires. When loves Him how He wants to be loved, He imparts His own beautiful desires into our hearts.
“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4
Why would the God who rules the universe desire to be loved? Because He created us for this key reason… to coexist with Him in perfect Heaven and experience eternal love.
“Through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His servants will worship him. 4 They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.” Revelation 22:2-4
God desires for us to be with Him. God desires perfection for the place where we dwell. Thus, He waits patiently to bring this perfect end to a climax so we can enter into pure Heaven without contagions of sin.
God always desires your love. He always wants you close. Choose and see the love of God you were made to experience.
“May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your purpose,” the psalmist writes in Psalm 20:4 from a well of abundance in desiring God with all His heart. When you desire God, you experience vivacious joy that gives you a desire to see others blessed and lavished. It all stems from the foundation underlying it all… being loved by God. This prompts you to want to love God.
“You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing.” Psalm 145:16
Jesus’ blood makes you alive. An eternal, living, breathing, moving, vibrant soul. God satisfies your soul. He brings your soul to life.
Hosea depicts the desires of God for His people, even in their sin against Him. His heart persisted in loving them because love is a desires of His heart, and God’s desires cannot be stopped.
“How can I give you up, O Ephraim? How can I hand you over, O Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I treat you like Zeboiim? My heart recoils within me; my compassion grows warm and tender.” Hosea 11:8
God desires to be merciful to you because He loves you. Mercy is a mark of love. Tenderness is a mark of love. Heartbreak is a mark of love. Heart-filled passion is a mark of love. God’s heart manifests all of these characteristics. Exponentially infinite are the attributes of His love for you.
John highlights the outrageous, beautiful love of God for us, His people, in 1 John 3.
“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” 1 John 3:1
God’s love may cause the world to persecute you, hate you, ostracize you, envy you because you bear the glory of His chosen anointing. Love others and show them God’s love is for them too. God desires for all people to come to know Him.
“Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when He appears we shall be like Him, because we shall see him as He is.” 1 John 3:2
God wants to show you who you are. There is so much more to discover about ourselves when Jesus comes back. Our glorious identity will glitter and glow. Sparkle and sizzle. Dazzle and divinely reflect God’s glorious light.
God always desires us to be in His presence.
God never pushes us away.
Jesus tells the people to come to Him in Matthew 11.
“Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
Jesus desires to give you rest.
Rest reflects the love of God.
“Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:29
Jesus desires us to learn from Him and lighten the pressure.
Jesus desires us to see the proof that His way is restful.
Jesus desires us to rest deep in our souls.
“For my yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:30
Jesus desires to remove the load from your back.
“Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.” Psalm 34:5
God is worth committing to. He desires to be loyal to you forever.
