Anointed With Oil

Window panes shine brightly in the icy frost of winter. Snowflakes pirouette in the crisp wind as the cold front blows in. Clydesdales gallop. Christmas trees sway. Snowmen sing into the blizzard swirling symphonically.

Olive trees hold tightly to the roots of mineralized earth while the storm rattles its vegetation. The more resistance, the more it stands. The more the wind blows, the more the oil presses from the pressure. It can stand the pressure. It can take the force. Equilibrium sets in, readjusting its stamina and ensuring its resilience at high levels.

The crushing increases the purity of the oil. The oil burns brightest when it has been purified. God shines more light through vessels that have been crushed because the light is pure, strong and bright.

“You shall command the people of Israel that they bring to you pure beaten olive oil for the light, that a lamp may regularly be set up to burn.” Exodus 27:20

God anoints you with pure oil.

Pure olive oil makes the light shine best in your spirit. You need pure olive oil. Pure oil. Pure anointing. From God’s own garden lavished on you.

After the crushing comes protection. God wants to savor His precious oil and He will not let anyone take it away from you. Your anointing is permanent. Unchangeable. So God encircles you with His angelic security as Psalm 91:11 says of God commanding angels concerning you, for your calling from God is irrevocable.

“For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable.” Romans 11:29

Oil is on God’s Beloved.

In Exodus 27, God established roles for people to tend to the oil so that it would never go out.

“In the tent of meeting, outside the veil that is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall tend it from evening to morning before the Lord. It shall be a statute forever to be observed throughout their generations by the people of Israel.” Exodus 27:21

God keeps tending to you so that your gifts, talents and anointing never goes away. He keeps you supplied with oil forever.

“Precious treasure and oil are in a wise man’s dwelling, but a foolish man devours it.” Proverbs 21:20

Do not give up your oil. Do not destroy your oil. Do not give away your oil. It belongs to you and God considers it “precious treasure,” more valuable than all. You need to keep the oil God gives you. God will ensure the oil keeps flowing forever.

“And spices and oil for the light, and for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense.” Exodus 35:28

Light needs God’s oil. So, God gives the oil continually. God always provides endless oil to His Beloved.

In  2 Kings 4, Elisha does a miracle for a woman by making endless oil. The oil would provide enough money for her to provide for her children.

“Now the wife of one of the sons of the prophets cried to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord, but the creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves.” 2 Kings 4:1

Elisha asks the woman what she has in the house, and what she possesses is more valuable than she knows.

“And Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me; what have you in the house?” And she said, “Your servant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil.” 2 Kings 4:2

The woman says she has nothing but oil. Then Elisha shows her this is exactly the treasure. Oil.

“Then he said, “Go outside, borrow vessels from all your neighbors, empty vessels and not too few. Then go in and shut the door behind yourself and your sons and pour into all these vessels. And when one is full, set it aside.” 2 Kings 4:3-4

The woman begins pouring the oil.

The oil flows. And flows. And flow. And flows. It never stops.

“So she went from him and shut the door behind herself and her sons. And as she poured they brought the vessels to her. When the vessels were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another.” Then the oil stopped flowing. She came and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts, and you and your sons can live on the rest.” 2 Kings 4:5-7

The oil you possess is your golden ticket. Your jackpot. Your treasure.

Keep pouring your oil. Your heart. Your soul. Your Spirit. Your words. Your anointing. You have been given gifts from God that are anointed by His Holy Spirit and it grants you blessing.

Your oil is what will provide for you and those close to you for the rest of your days. God is your provider and He knows how to make His oil in you flow forever.

Heaven shines with the anointing of God’s oil. This is the oil inside you.

God spoke of oil in the Old Testament when anointing ceremonies took place. The oil was used to pour on one’s head to signify anointing that God had given spiritually.

“You shall take the anointing oil and pour it on his head and anoint him.” Exodus 29:7

consecrate my heart

with Your oil

with Your light

sanctify my soul

with Your oil

with Your shine

innovate the earth

with Your oil

with Your life

that renews

like tides

washing into the flawless sea

The King’s loving oil is our everything

“Then you shall take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it, and consecrate it and all its furniture, so that it may become holy.” Exodus 40:9

God’s oil never stops pouring. He keeps loving with oily love. A love that is potent with satisfaction and fulfillment. There is nothing dry about God’s love.

His love is like liquid diamonds, living water, nourishing the soul.

“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” James 5:14

Anointing oil heals.

God’s oil satisfies your soul.
