Sprinkles of golden rays shower down from Heaven where the light shines. Glimmers of raindrops glisten in the clouds where the angels sing. Sparkles of glitter like kisses pour out like mercy from the garden of God’s eternal dwelling place.
Mercy adorns the passionate heart of God’s love on display.
“The LORD replied, “I will make all my goodness pass before you, and I will call out My Name, Yahweh, before you. For I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.” Exodus 33:19
Mercy makes God’s heart feel good. He loves to lavish mercy and forgiveness like the rain and give it like the dawn. God swoons mercy to be compassionate to anyone He wants to. And He wants to. All the time. Every second. Every moment. Every day. He wants to be merciful to you because it means He gets to have you with Him forever in heavenly relationship.
God understands the reasons underlying the brokenness of humanity, and so He gives mercy to keep His connection with us. Your mistakes are erased by your perfect, loving God, Jesus Christ.
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalm 23:6
God is a good God. A beautiful God. A unmatched God. An unparalleled God. His love will forever shine as the best love the universe could behold.
“For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.” James 2:13
God gives abundant mercy and He is perfect. He always expects us to show mercy considering we are humans who fall short of His glory as Romans 3:23 says. The only perfect One is God. If He can show mercy, then you can too. God will not show mercy to the one who is unmerciful.
God’s passionate heart serenades with mercy to the one who has been merciful. If you want God to show you mercy, show others mercy.
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.” Matthew 5:7
Jesus preached blessing over merciful souls. The King who has all power to decide the fate of the universe says He shows favor to the merciful. God loves mercy on you. So step up the mercy. He loves the way compassion adorns you. So wear compassion. He loves the way kindness beautifies you. So talk and act with kindness.
“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.” Colossians 3:12
His Holy Spirit is a spirit of mercy to His creation.
Jesus demonstrated mercy when He allowed a sinner to walk free and let sinful humans take Him into custody for a crime He did not commit.
“But you have a custom that I should release one man for you at the Passover. So do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?” They cried out again, “Not this man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.” John 18:39-40
Jesus showed mercy when He allowed the sinful ones to falsely accuse Him, all so He could die for the humans He chooses to show mercy to.
“Then Pilate took Jesus and flogged him. 2 And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head and arrayed him in a purple robe. 3 They came up to him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and struck him with their hands. 4 Pilate went out again and said to them, “See, I am bringing him out to you that you may know that I find no guilt in him.” John 19:1-4
Salvation is a result of mercy.
Oneness with God is a result of mercy.
Eternal life is a result of mercy.
God is the only God who shows mercy. The One who makes the decisions. The one who calls the shots. He gives us the choice to choose Him and receive His mercy. God gives mercy because He loves.
Learn from His example.
The earth spins and orbits around the sun cosmically tethered to the Creator of Heaven and Earth. It keeps moving because of mercy. The same mercy that breathed it to life and sustains it day and night. God speaks to us with serenity and gentle love because of mercy. He takes His time and is patient with us because of mercy. Eternity waits for our arrival in Heaven’s paradise where we will be enraptured with our King forever, all because of mercy. Mercy sustains our connection with God.

Jesus said… “Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” Matthew 9:13
Jesus says… love mercy. Learn mercy. Then apply to it the way you live. Show it graciously in the way interact with others.
Love compels your heart to want to give mercy. True lovers cannot bear the burden of their lover bearing harm, so they grant mercy. Jesus gives you mercy that you cannot give yourself all because of His love for you… the one He chose in love.
“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16
Love wants perfect purity for their lover.
Mercy is the antidote for every wrongdoing, ensuring the lover receives all purity and redemption.
“And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:14:15
Mercy is the foundation for cultivating true love and oneness.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3
Our living hope of Heaven is a result of mercy. “His great mercy.” Mercy gives you a new life. 1 Peter says that salvation is akin to being born again because Jesus used this language when He spoke to Nicodemus in John’s gospel.
“Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3
You must wake up to a new way of life in Jesus when you are given eternal life. Jesus makes you want to live according to His love and not according to anything else. And along the way, He gives you mercy as you walk out this new life fully redeemed by His purity and glory in you.
God is faithful to give you steadfast mercy. Steadfast grace. Steadfast mercy.
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23

You are so much more than you know. You are holy, pure, cleansed, spotless, innocent, perfect, loved, and redeemed by Jesus. ❤
“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.”
Ephesians 2:4-5
