You Taught Me How To Love You

tell me Your delight my King
what can I give Your heart
ask me anything
and it’s done
tell me everything
You want
and I’ll pour out
my love on You
until every molecule is
aflood

rain on Me
as the sun stirs above
and I’m drenched in your love

it’s a dawning
shaking the earth
where Your feet
mark the worth
of a King
who’s clothed in royalty
and speaks and moves and breathes
like infinity

the Nile is undone
by the waters
of Your touch

and I am drowning in it
forevermore

let me pour on You
like the streams of Lebanon
to move You
with affection
as a phenomenon
angels will sing of
my Lord
You are the One
who first taught me
how to love You

and I will give back
to You my King
forever

tell me what You want my King
ask anything
and you’ll receive
the garden of your beloved’s esteem
when the midnight sun
bleeds
into the winter sky
glimmering
He says
you are My heart’s delight

and You are mine

I am found
in the eyes
of my Beloved

and He asks anything He wants
for anything He wishes
will be granted

“Awake, O north wind, and come, O south wind! Blow upon My garden, let its spices flow. Let my Beloved come to His garden, and eat its choicest fruits.”

Song of Solomon 4:16
