Belong To Jesus

There’s a revelry sparkling on the waters. Stars alight hear the symphony when the light is shining just right. The angels hark the orchestra of the Heavens. It’s a wonder of glistening and bliss the universe knows from its Maker. When the face of God has touched it. Soon, all will know it too. When the world meets their King.

The Son of God is here…

Mary’s contractions have now progressed into labor and the baby is encroaching. Approaching are the wise men and they know who He is. The star ever leading them to their Messiah. Jesus Christ is coming to fulfill every prophesy spoken of Him.

He is the Savior of the world.

While they were there in Bethlehem, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger.” Luke 2:6-7

Jesus belonged to Mary. And Mary would belong to Jesus.

Her baby. Her Son. Her Savior.

Jesus came so that we would belong to Him…

Be known by Him…

Be loved by Him.

It’s beautiful and endearing that He came to us in this way. Jesus entered the world from a perspective unfathomed for a God. The womb of a woman… the eyes of a baby… He willingly infiltrated our calamity and inserted Himself in a narrative crafting a destiny He wanted us to be in. The greatest gift we could ever discover. Every day I keep unraveling more of His beauty and mystery.

On Christmas Jesus dawned as a baby. But He’s more… He always was. Always is. Always will be.

When Jesus came into the world He didn’t stay a baby…

He became a man.

And the child Jesus grew and became strong; He was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on Him.” Luke 2:40

He is not just a man… He is God. The God of the universe. Everything bows before Him and rises to enthrone Him. This God who comes close. He lifts us up to look upon His face. To commune with Him and be known by Him.

It’s why He came…

Jesus wants a relationship with you…❤️

When you belong to Jesus, you discover your beloved identity.

I love that Jesus chose to embed Himself in the human experience. Intimacy is cultivated in this connection.

His love is so vast it would never cease replenishing the deepest oceans for you… seek to know the God who formed you. His love is always bursting for you…

As Jesus grew into a man and began His ministry, more of His true identity as God unveiled.

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on His shoulders.
And He will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

For this reason He came… to save His people into salvation as the sinless Lamb of God. Humanity and divinity hosted in the same entity. Jesus Christ is the only God who ever came to live as a man and He always will be.

There is no other God besides Jesus Christ.

The disciples continually watched Jesus with eyes wide open as He defied the normal and accomplished the impossible.

In Matthew chapter 8, the disciples are with Jesus in route to the other side of the sea of Galilee when a storm finds them. The disciples are afraid and they wake Jesus.

“The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” Matthew 8:25

For Jesus to be sleeping here, reveals His two-fold identity as God and man. God never sleeps. But humans do. So Jesus is likewise, resting because that’s who He came to be for 33 years. A man. Yet, remember… He’s not just a man.

He is God.

It’s also interesting the disciples wake Jesus here. They don’t yet know that Jesus has the power to stop the storm, but they know that He always has the answer. So they go to Him confidently.

When you are confident in Jesus’ power, you can go to Him unashamed for anything you need.

Jesus is trustworthy and all powerful.

Jesus arises and handles the situation immediately. He doesn’t go back to sleep. What I love about Jesus is He constantly prioritizes everyone around Him.

“He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.” Matthew 8:26

It may seem Jesus is being harsh in this instance, but it’s not a matter of harshness nor rebuking the disciples in condemnation.

It’s about reminding the disciples in affirmation that they do not need to be afraid of anything… because He is there with Him.

“Little faith” He indicates as the reason for which they feared.

Thus, full faith is the antidote.

I’m reminded of Jesus’ parable of the mustard seed. “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20

Jesus constantly challenges His disciples to ascend higher in faith and act in power. God gives power to do miracles when we have faith in Him.

I love that Jesus’ always takes control of any situation we bring to Him. He knows what to do and how to get things done. The disciples are learning from Jesus how to also take charge of their circumstances in faith, and by the times Jesus dies and ascends to Heaven they are ready to take on the mission of bringing the gospel to the world without fear. Jesus is good at preparing us if we would submit to His training methods.

When Jesus silences the storm, the disciples are astonished at Jesus’ power. And from this point on, they would continue to see more and more of Jesus’ glory.

“The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey Him!” Matthew 8:27

Everything must bow before Jesus Christ.

Everything belongs to Jesus.

There is nothing in the universe outside of God’s jurisdiction. He rules over all. He can do anything. Awe-inspiring are You, Lord. You captivate me.

I love this phrase in verse 27 by the disciples… “what kind of man is this!?”

He couldn’t be contained or explained.

Jesus is more than a man.

His grandiosity cannot be expressed in a singular description. Jesus shattered every paradigm about Him. Without trying to. It’s what results when God interacts with humanity. But over time spiritual vision is imparted to the disciples, clarifying their eyes to see Him all the more with every exchange. Amplifying His true essense the more they understood who He was.

The disciples witnessed with their own eyes the remarkable power of Jesus.

The glory He carried.

The authority He asserted.

The majesty He glimmered.

Jesus you are the King of the world.

A king whom winds and waves obey.

He is the King of the universe… who steadies the fiercest seas and enrages the atmospheres’ tapestry to shred in two the moment He says to. When He comes again for us, everything will see Him… everything will exalt Him.

This Christmas and every Christmas… it’s You, Jesus, we sing to.

“She will give birth a Son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21

Christmas was just the beginning of a holiday meant to array every day with celebration and revelry. When The New Heaven and Earth is on display we will invade at the quake of His return to enjoy all He created for us. Being with Him forever. Never losing the flame.

Today Christmas belongs to Jesus… we give You all our love Lord.

And tomorrow, the day will belong to Jesus… I don’t want to stop giving Him my love… my best… my whole life.

Let everyday be like the wedding day. The wedding night. The passion flowing bright that never dies. Our God always has more to give…

Today is for you, King Jesus, and always will be. Everyday is yours. Every hour. Every minute. Every second.

I can see the sea of Galilee calming at the sound of Jesus’ voice. Resting in awe of Him… beaming at the sight of Him. That’s the Messiah! they sing if oceans could talk. I can see Mary glowing at the sound of her baby’s voice. Resting in her arms… gleaming as the light of the world. He’s the Messiah! they sing. And they always will sing… the song of Emmanuel.

We sing to You Jesus…

baby Son

Heaven’s love

born to become a man

we live because

of You

exist because

of You

we belong to You

our King

let the earth sing

Merry Christmas

only to You

Jesus

Beyond the oceans deep the fountains’ filagree is heightening on the horizon, funneling a fusion of pressure and liquid volume where life hovers on the waters. Waves cascading.

The Son is returning…

We were made to walk with Him. Fly with Him. Dance with Him. On every surface of the deep. Land, water, sky. Every dimension of His creation. In body and in spirit. Heart and soul. Surge Your waters of life, Lord, like an efflux of refreshment showering on us.

“He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; His kingdom will never end.

Luke 1:32-33
