Feed Your Fuel

Have you ever felt the euphoria of forgetting a basic need? When wrapped up in delight. Jesus did… when He forgot to eat after seeing the beauty of liberation He came to bring.

In John chapter 4, it’s a scorching day in the desert and His mission is to touch the life of a woman in Samaria… a woman who, once touched by Jesus, would spill out His glory to the rest of the town nestled below.

“Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did! Can this be the Christ?” ‭‭

John‬ ‭4:29‬ ‭

After the woman goes to the city below, to tell them what happened the whole town comes up to meet Him. And as they do, many believe in Jesus as Messiah because of her testimony.

Never underestimate the power of your conversion story in sparking revival. It could be your very story of how you encountered the Lord that ends up radically moving someone else. The Holy Spirit speaks through our testimonies upon the moment of the testimony occuring or in that season of occurence. However I do want to point out that it’s never good to let your testimony be a constant memory or a crutch used to bring salvation. Don’t dwell on what you used to be and constantly bring it up because God says in Psalm 103:12 He forgets your sin and casts your sins as far as the east is from the west. God forgets your sin and you need to also.

Your testimony is most powerful at the moment it transpires. The season it transpires.

The woman is not bringing up her past in this moment. She is bringing up the present… “He told me all I ever did!” Jesus brings up the past so He can erase it and we can receive this forgiveness and move forward. The woman responds accordingly. Her excitement speaks of what literally just happened and how what just happened now erases her past. Once your past is erased, let it be erased. What is your past? The life before Christ. B.C. Sin erased. Sin forgotten.

You don’t have to constantly bring up your past in order to change a soul. Because then your past will erode away at the new identity you are suppossed to be thriving in.

Be who God says you are NOW and do not go back. Jesus did not die for you to stay stuck in a past version of you… He died for you to become the new and beautiful creation He birthed you to be.

God says “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

So how can we share our testimony when sowing seeds for salvation?

We share what Jesus is doing now.

Share abundantly about God’s present activity in your life… and you will never run out of testimony to share.

I promise you Jesus keeps getting better and showing you more of Himself than you saw even at the moment of salvation. But when salvation happens… tell everyone around you! Let that moment produce power and excitement as it’s meant to, like a firework detonating. Let the fire ignite and shine while it is meant to. Then traverse deeper into the journey of life with God where you see His presence more and more, growing stronger and building a house upon the foundation of His love.

The woman is changed forever. Now with a sturdy foundation of revelation of Jesus as Messiah. And she leaves her past behind. She leaves her water jar at the well of Jacob now revived by the well of Life… Jesus Christ.

She got what she needed.

And so did Jesus.

Now His disciples find Him, about to depart and they urge Him… “Rabbi, eat.” John 4:31

The journey was long and they knew He would need energy and nourishment. Don’t you love the kindness and awareness of the disciples.

“But Jesus said to them, “I have food to eat that you don’t know about.” ‭‭John‬ ‭4:32‬ ‭

I love Jesus’ personality and quick wit. He is truthful and always thought provoking.

Jesus knew what His food was.

Do you?

Something filled Him…
Already.
After that encounter with the woman.

I can see Jesus’ face… radiating… glistening… thinking about what just happened the moment He saw the woman light up once she realized He was the Messiah.

It did something to Him. It satisfied His heart.

“Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of the one who sent Me and to complete His work.” ‭‭John‬ ‭4:34‬ ‭

This is a strong statement.

Food is one of the most essential needs of a human being’s survival next to water. To say that doing God’s will is His “food” is elevating it to a place of essential need. For His survival.

Jesus loved ministering to people.

It’s the joy of what you do that gives pleasure and determination to keep going. Jesus loved ministering to people so much so that He didn’t need food in this moment. And it was more nourishing to him than food could be.

Ministry prospers because of love.

Anyone with success got there because they enjoy putting in the work, they find purpsoe in it, delight in it and it inspires them to do more. You won’t reach success without joy. IT’s easy to give up once the newness fades if you don’t have passion. But real passion never gives up even after the initial butterflies. Real passion keeps stirring them faithfully because of determination. You won’t find motivation to keep trying if you don’t like what you do. You must love it… love is the foundation.

When you love what you do it feeds your fuel.

What is your food?

What fills your heart?

Food satisfies the stomach by God’s design. But there’s a greater food that satisfies the heart by His delight to satisfy you…

What fuels you will drive you and propel you forward.

Our diligence to accomplish the tasks before us and do our jobs well depends on our joy and our dedication.

We need to assess what we love and what we are giving our lives to. Because that is directly correlated to your joy. God wants you to enjoy life He gave and to accomplish everything set before you with excellence as unto Him.

It’s starts with your heart rooted in Jesus love for you above all else.

Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skies.” Psalm 36:5

Jesus’ love for you fueled Him forward to the cross… He will always be the first one to give you what you need.

“For the joy set before Him endured the cross…” is how Jesus’ joy is described in Hebrews 12:2. It was not a burden. He sacrificed His needs so you could be filled in every way. It was His joy to give His own life up for you to have yours. Because that’s what love does… it can’t help but give everything for its lover.

Jesus considers it a basic need to be your Lover.

Let His love be your fuel… ♥️

faithful lover

faithful Savior

i never have to wonder

where my joy comes from

or if the love is done

it will never be over

for You have loved me over and over

my faithful Lover

God has food for you that you don’t know about!

God has blessings for you that you don’t know about!

God has opportunities for you that you don’t know about!

He will feed your fuel if you let Him. It’s His love that fuels you to overflowing and you never run out of the drive you need to keep traversing into the destiny He has for you and He is the destiny. Jesus. Just to know Him. To be held by Him. To be close to Him. Loved by Him. That is the greatest food… You Lord… You are our nourishment. Our every need… Jesus loves you love you.

Let him lead you and you will see the most beautiful hidden gems only God can make happen for you.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Isaiah 40:31
