Beautiful… did you know you are beautiful? Adorned with Heaven’s gems at every bend of the path He led you on and you soared with Him into the lightning sparkling.
Royal… did you know you are Royal? Crowned with joy and kindness in the likeness of the King who chose you reveling in love. He loves you…
There’s a reason He chose you… a reason He wrote you into the storyboard of His opera showcasing Heaven’s glory. Your beauty compelled the heart of the King…You are the radiance of the crescendo. The dazzling light capturing the Spirit’s heart moving through the space surrounding… unleashing luminosity for them to see He is King.
You complement Him. You defend Him. You war for Him. You shine for Him… because He sparks your light… like He did when He gave you life. His love gives us life… vibrant and alive with fire.
Magnify your light…
“To Him who made the great lights, His steadfast love endures forever.” Psalm 136:7
It’s already in you… it has been your whole life. His light. Fierce and anointed is who God made you to be… a Heavenly celestial being redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. Eternal and free. He gave His life sacrificially so you could thrive enriched and unashamed.
Don’t hide your life…
Don’t hide your light…
He loves to see you shine… brighter and brighter… and so do I.
In Matthew chapter 5, Jesus taught the people in his infamous sermon on the mount what it means to live life transmitting the glory of God. To live according to His love and to experience the fruit of this pursuit. He said that “the pure in heart will see God” and that “blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will be filled.” Seeking God is the starting point for every met need. I can’t think of a need in my life that was met without first seeking the Lord. He takes care of all of me… and all of you. He tocuhes the hidden places and the numb places we didn’t know needed to be touched. Because He is in love with us so much that He wants more for our existence here on the earth. So He intervenes… and stirs lavish blessings recklessly. He works miracles. He channels His glory through you so that what He wants to say and display will be manifest for more people to glimpse. This is why it’s important to let our hearts and souls be known.
He said… “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men.”
We share who we are…
Because they need to see and hear who God is.
Jesus loves to broadcast His glorious works and words through you.
When you shine who you are it brings attention to God… because He is in you…so that others will see His beauty and so want to come close to Him too.
“So that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
When others see you… they see God. How? Because God’s Holy Spirit indwells you so strongly that miraculous glimmers are constantly sparkling from you and manifesting from you. 1 John 4:17 says, “As He is in this world, so are we.” This is not something meant to be hidden. God does it for you because HE loves you and He does it for you so that others around you can see it.
This verse reveals a connection between seeing and speaking. It says they will “see” your good deeds and “glorify” God. When someone sees something worth praising, they will subsequently praise with their mouth. Like at a basketball game when a 3 pointer is made right at the buzzer just in time to win the game… what happens throughout the stadium? Uproar! Cheering! Celebration! Everyone bursts into shouts because the eyes have just witnessed an incredibel occurence.
What you see corresponds with what you say.
God is a God who deserves to be praised and if we want Him to be worshipped as He deserves we should publicize His greatness in our lives. So that others may see… and so celebrate His awe.
“We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
This verse adorns the opening introduction of John’s gospel, one of the disciples who walked with Jesus. I love how he points out “we have seen His glory” as He pens these words. John witnessed something. Something big. Something miraculous. Something holy. Something worth repeating… so He writes his gospel to declare all He saw. But it started there… with what he saw. What he saw of Jesus now gives him something to say about Jesus.
What have you seen from Jesus?
Declare what you see unfolding all around you by Jesus’ Spirit because it is a way the gospel is shared in the earth.
John’s witnessing of Jesus’ presence on the earth is what anchors him in faith and love with Jesus. Confirming Jesus’ identity to Him. You won’t forget who Jesus is when you see Him at work in your life. And you feel His love for you. John specifically was one of the disciples who had an incredibly intimate relationship with Jesus. He calls himself “the one Jesus loved” in his gospel. I love that kind of confidence… because it’s the truth. You don’t have to fear you are being braggadocious when it’s true. God is someone you want to talk about and bost about. It is a glory to boast about the Lord in your life.
“My soul boasts in the LORD; let the oppressed hear and rejoice.” Psalm 34:2
David says that when we boast in the Lord it actually liberates the oppressed into happiness… that is powerful! You have the ability to uplift someone’s soul by your obedience to vocalize God’s works in your life. Tell of what God is doing… and see the people around you increase in positivity. Praising God is the highest form of joy renewal.
What is God doing in your life right now?
God can use it to be the catalyst of someone else’s spiritual formation.
Your spiritual life jolts others into higher relationship with God. Let them in on your journey. Give them access to how God is moving in your life, what He is doing and saying. The psalms are a beautiful representation of this unfolding through the life of David. We read about his emotions, his experiences, his prayers, his praises, his victories and his heart ponderings with the Lord. The Bible itself showcases the internal workings of many hearts on display through their writing. Every word penned and every syllable spoken required a willingness to share their heart to begin with… and since they have, now the world is blessed by the words and brought into closer fellowship with God.
When you are a follower of Jesus, God will put your life on display even more. Whether you want it or not. Because He is trying to highlight something and He does it through human beings… His people… His creation. Because we are connected to all the other human beings and they will see God at work in us. Let Him have you… so He can transmit Himself through you.
It’s how the world becomes brighter…
Because you make it brighter.
You are meant to display your beauty and goodness…
“How beautiful are your feet in sandals, O noble daughter! Your rounded thighs are like jewels, the work of a Master hand.” Song of Solomon 7:1
I love the passionate imagery and honesty of love depicted in this book and even moreso… the lover’s crediting of God in his lover’s beauty. She is “The work of a Master hand” he says…
Beauty derives from somewhere… outside of ourselves… and God is the Artist. The Master Hand. The creative craftsman.
When beauty emanates, it compels a person to recognize its origin. This stirs spiritual thought and pondering. Beckoning the soul to consider its own origin. When you come from God, others will notice. For your beauty and spirit comes from somewhere else outside of this world. And you want that to be observed… so that the world might be reminded this place is not our home… we have an eternal destination… where endless beauty and lavish glory awaits us. We were created to behold beauty… forever and ever with God as our stunning King. And you reflect Him. Let Him reflect Himself in you.
“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God… When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
Their will rise to praise the Lord when they see God’s miracles unfolding in your life.
“For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.”
Again… the writer makes it clear that he has “seen” something with His eyes. Something glorious and Heavenly. And this provokes salvation.
What we see affects our souls.
The beauty of the Lord draws us to Him.
Your beauty draws souls to Him.
I love how your heart brings them to the light of the son of God. I love how your soul shows them what character and goodness looks like. I love how you challenge them to level up and be better and they will be because they were exposed to you.
Feature your beauty… it sparkles God’s beauty.
“And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.”
shine your light
like you did
the day I met you
it was effortless
how the temple
of the Lord
breathes from you
and out of you
flows His freedom
and His beauty
like the Garden of Eden
a fruit tree
is the soul you keep
for spiritual wisdom
love surrounds you
let them see you
for they will see
