Part 2 of 2.
When I studied King David’s story of love with both Michal and Bathsheba, I found dilemmas, conflicts, passion, desire, murder and anguish. Still, the redemption and love of the Lord remained with David forever.
Love is beautiful because it’s given from God. Love is God’s design. Love is His forte.
“Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm, for love is strong as death, jealousy is fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, the very flame of the Lord. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it.” Song of Solomon 8:6-7
King Solomon, David’s son, wrote this from his experience in love and as King over Israel.
God designed you to experience love from Him and love in a marriage relationship as He designed.
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24
Love from God creates oneness of heart, soul, mind and body. Who you join with is important.
We learn in 2 Samuel 6-11, King David experienced 2 dilemmas in his lovelife. In the first, he married a woman who did not love God. In the second, he fell in love with Bathsheba who was already married to Uriah.
How did he seek the Lord in these two instances?
We discover through David that when you love God, God is always present with redemption in your story.
