Love’s interruptions. Divine collisions. Unexpected disruptions from the Heavens sending the Holy fire of God. Let Your glory surround us, Lord. You have the priority. Your love has the right-of-way.
“And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them.”
Do you want God to fill your space?
You taste God’s glory when you let Jesus have His way.
“And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
Speak the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jesus did. He told them who He was in Luke’s gospel when He showed up and interrupted the normal reading flow at the synagogue in Nazareth.
“And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as was His custom, He went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and He stood up to read. And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to Him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written…” Luke 4:16-17
Jesus interrupted their normal schedule of Isaiah readings to speak life over them. He reads the chapter and verse in Isaiah (61:1-2) that was most critical in that moment: Jesus is now fulfilling the prophesies spoken of Him as Messiah.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.”
All eyes are on Him. The One who stepped in and interrupted the flow. The One who stood up and announced the throne of God is at hand. Messiah is here. Jesus is God.
“And He rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” Luke 4:20-21
Jesus is GOD.
