Focus On Jesus

Eyes open wide to the beauty of Jesus. Everything else fades in comparison. Distractions lose their focus. Other attentions lose their appeal. Lesser priorities lose their hold on you when you know Jesus is the highest captivation.

“One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.” Psalm 27:4

Who has your focus?

I’m reminded of the miracle where Jesus healed a blind man at the pools of Bethsaida.

“When He had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything? He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.” Mark 8:23-24

Jesus touched the man’s eyes two times in this story. He needed to heal His focus. His physical vision and His spiritual vision.

“Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored…” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭8‬:‭25‬

Your spiritual vision is vital to your intimacy with Jesus. Connect with God and see beyond what the eyes see. See Him by the Holy Spirit.

“And then he saw everything clearly.” Mark 8:25

Focus on Jesus and your vision clarifies.

During Christmas it’s important to prioritize your time with Jesus. Focus on Jesus. Above all else.

You need that alone time in order to sustain and flourish in your spiritual life. Then you will have living water inside of you to give family and friends around you.

“Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”  John 4:10

Jesus is the highest gift. You only have something to give others because of what He has first given you.

Many distractions rival your focus but none rival His preeminence.

“Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2

Choose to focus on Jesus today and everyday in your heart.
