Move with the Spirit. Dance with the Lord. Reflect on the promises of Jesus past and present. Leap for the joy of God’s Son given for your salvation. Give your time to Him. Your heart to Him. Your love to Him. God leaps for joy because your love moves Him.
The Holy Spirit fills every space the Son indwells.
Colossians 1:27 says that “Christ is in you, the hope of glory.” When Jesus indwells you, you also get the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit and Jesus are the same God, just as the Father is also the same God as the Holy Spirit and the Son. Our God exists as a triune God with three persons comprising His being. For Jesus to reside in you spiritually, is a big deal. This denotes the precious and priceless power of God in you that marks you as royal, eternal, beautiful, chosen, worthy and pure before the Lord.
When Jesus indwells you, you take Jesus with you everywhere you go. Your relationship with Jesus increases your connection with Him.
Spend time with God. He leaps for joy when you prioritize Him first. He wants your love. He wants you to delight in the joy of knowing Jesus intimately. He wants you to be glad for the Holy Spirit who connects you the Lord.
In Luke 1, Elizabeth experiences this indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
In this chapter, Mary visits Elizabeth who is pregnant with John, who would be Jesus’ cousin. John will also become the forerunner, who prophesies about Jesus’ coming when they are around 30 years old to begin Jesus’ ministry. God ordained for them to be born at the same time because they were needed at the same time. God orchestrates every person’s birth for the precise and best time they are needed in the world.
John’s birth was important for Jesus and Jesus’ birth was important for John. Even as a fetus in his mother’s womb, John knew how significant Jesus was. It says this of his awareness in Luke 1…
“When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.” Luke 1:41
The Holy Spirit fills Elizabeth because of Jesus’ proximity to her, and He has not even been born yet. Jesus is so powerful that even His unborn form makes people react with glorious joy. His Spirit is powerful. His presence is awe-inspiring.
God loves to provoke joy by His presence.
God celebrates when His Son and Holy Spirit indwell His people. God loves to commune with us. He rejoices with expressive movement.
“And the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.” Genesis 1:2
God travels over the waters for you.
God is a God of movement and action. He is constantly running the universe, doing a trillion things at once in order to sustain life and everything associated with His creation. Your prayers matter to Him. Your desires matter to Him. Your needs matter to Him. The same God who moved with rapid power to create the world is the same God still moving with rapid power to orchestrate your life and be involved in it. Life comes from His mouth.
Life speaks new creation into being when God moves in power.
“I have told you this so that My joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” John 15:11
God is a God of joy. Jesus says, “My joy” when He talks of this joy that will be in the ones He is talking to. Jesus wants you to share in His joy. He wants you to feel the same emotions and sentiments as Him, that are on epic levels. Jesus’ joy is not a small joy. It is a grandiose joy, blossoming vibrant and lusicous, tall and strong.
If you want joy in your life, ask Jesus to do what His word says here in John 15: give you His joy. How does He give you His joy? By His own generosity. Receive it and join in the joy He wants to give you.
God is always moving. He does not remain in one place when He has the entire universe to cover. His presence over all of creation provokes souls to respond to Him through His Holy Spirit.
“For thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘Once more in a little while, I Am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea also and the dry land.” Haggai 2:6
God shakes the Heavens to provoke the angels to choose their King. God shakes the earth to provoke humans to choose their God. The sea is shaken. The dry land is shaken. Every square inch of the universe is shaken by the Lord when He sends His Son Jesus back for His people to call us up with Him in Heaven. He is the only One who can shake the elements of creation, because He is the Creator of creation.
God shakes what lies stagnant. He wants action, movement, passion, love. God is a God who moves powerfully in the world and through His people.
“The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord thunders over the mighty waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic. The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.” Psalm 29:3-5
