Remain Calm

Toss me about the sea as the waves roll high and deep into a darkening moon. The chaos won’t overwhelm me. The lightning won’t strike me. The thunder won’t paralyze me from floating on the waters, because my God lifts me higher, stronger, and fiercer above the danger roaring loud.

Jesus remains calm in the chaos. And so am I.

How do you react to chaos around you?

“He said to them, “Where is your faith?” Luke 8:25

Jesus sleeps through chaos. Laughs through chaos. Dances through chaos. Thrives through chaos. He’s got resilience in every circumstance.

“As they were sailing He fell asleep. Then a fierce windstorm came down on the lake; they were being swamped and were in danger.” Luke‬ ‭8‬:‭23‬

Jesus fell asleep on the unstable waters because nothing makes Him feel out of control. He is in control no matter where you are.

“They came and woke Jesus up, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to die! ” Then He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waves. So they ceased, and there was a calm.” Luke‬ ‭8‬:‭24‬

Chaos wants to find you when you’re calm. But one who is truly calm won’t fall apart when danger surfaces.

Jesus’ ability to remain calm originates from His ability to be in command. He asserts authority over the chaos! The chaos does not assert authority over Him.

You can tell your hurricane to be gone if you speak with Jesus’ authority.

“Look, I have given you the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy; nothing will ever harm you. However, don’t rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” Luke‬ ‭10‬:‭19-20

Rejoice that you belong to Jesus instead of rejoicing over the battle you win.

God wants you to have a pure heart that beats for peace not war.

Remember whose Spirit resides in you.

“They were fearful and amazed, asking one another, “Who can this be? He commands even the winds and the waves, and they obey Him!” Luke‬ ‭8‬:‭25‬

Everything must obey Jesus. So why are you afraid? No one has power over Him. Trust in Jesus’ leadership of your life.

Remain calm.
