Friendship with others necessitates respect in how we see them. Attraction is a normal part of human life but seeing others as made by God for a purpose in Jesus allows us to see others as brothers and sisters instead of objects of attraction.

We must learn how to interact with others with a pure heart. We cannot cling to others who are meant to leave our lives for a season. Jesus was leaving earth but He was sending His Holy Spirit to remain as a gift of His presence with them. We connect to Jesus by His Holy Spirit while we wait for Him to return for a second time in the physical presence.

“Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” John‬ ‭20‬:‭17‬
