Jesus Exudes Rest

Rest in the love of the Savior. Jesus… He embodies rest. He revitalizes rest. He nurtures rest. Words from Jesus impart rest into every part of your essence. Relationship with Jesus invites rest into every part of your heart so you can accomplish every mission He gives you. Rest is a posture of the heart, granted through Jesus Himself.

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29

Jesus promises rest two times in His invitation.

Jesus wants us to come to Him for this rest, not anything else that would substitute as an alternative form of rest. In the Greek translation, the word for rest is “anapausis.” It means “cessation from labor, a break, or intermission.” When you come to Jesus, you cease laboring and you start living for the Kingdom of God.

Living for Jesus is not laborious. It’s restful. Following Jesus is not strenuous. It’s restful. Learning from Jesus is not taxing. It’s restful.

Jesus said “learn from Me.” His way of life produces rest for you. The one who spent His days healing, walking, teaching, and interacting with people said we should follow in His footsteps because this is the path where we find rest for our souls.

Rest from God surpasses all. Then your mind is at ease because He has already filled you with the lightness of His Spirit.

“For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:30

Jesus’ path is the path of rest. Jesus’ path is the path of light burdens and easy yokes. Your mission for Jesus leads you on the path of Heaven’s way of life. Seek Jesus and we find the rest we were made to experience.

“And He said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14

Rest in Jesus’ presence with you.
