Eyes of Love

Eyes glisten. Eyes simmer. Eyes melt. Eyes glimmer in the light of Jesus’ glory from above. Lift me up when I am weak from love. When I am vulnerable from love. When I am serene from love overwhelming my heart again. Your love consumes me like the wind. Your love awakens light within the glory of your face, God. I am found here in His eyes of love.

Jesus’ eyes speak love. Grace and kindness mark His heart. When you get close to Him, you know you can trust Him with anything. Everything is in His control.

In John 9, Jesus shows us how He notices a man needing healing. Jesus has the power to act, so He acts. He takes control and does what he needs in order to see.

“He replied, “The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.” John 9:11

Doing what Jesus says brings you healing.

Letting Him be God His way births your miracle.

Eyes see when Jesus touches them. Eyes operate according to their innate design when Jesus realigns them to see how He sees. This man had not been able to see for his whole life, but the second Jesus came along, that all changed. This man’s healing showed the glory of God through his miracle story.

“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.” John 9:3

God works miracles for those who have room in their lives for a miracle.

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.” 1 John 4:7

You must be born again into the new life Jesus gives you when you crown Him as Lord and Savior.

Love adorns the one healed by Jesus.

Love is the epiphany God wants you to have. To know He loves you and to be able to see this love accurately. The man sees Jesus is the Messiah once his eyesight is healed. The epitome of love itself was standing right in front of Him, but it is only after Jesus heals his eyes that He can see it.

Jesus reveals His identity to those who see Him for who He is. King and Savior. God. The Alpha and Omega. The Lion and the Lamb. He is the God of the universe, who holds the whole world together.

“Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which He has called you, what are the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints.” Ephesians 1:18

Your heart becomes enlightened when you see Jesus rightly. Then you can see everything else around you accurately too, because you have holy vision. Jesus wants you to know the hope that He called you to. He wants you to know what He has for you. He wants you to be confident in your destiny promised to you. Jesus says He has “riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints” for you. When your eyes are opened, you can see the richness of Jesus’ identity.

Open your eyes and see Jesus for who He is.

In 2 Kings 6, the prophet Elisha asks God to open a man’s eyes so that He would see God fighting for them.

“Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open His eyes that He may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and He saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” 2 Kings 6:17

When the Lord opens your eyes, you can see what you have been missing all along. You see His presence. You see His support. You see He is the one fighting for you in ways that are unseen to the naked eye. But the spiritual eyes become aware of God’s presence.

Spiritual vision shows us God’s involvement in our lives, so we can be encouraged no matter what, to know the Lord is there with us.

open our eyes

to see You, Lord

Your love for us

is our highest reward

“The hairs of His head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire.” Revelation 1:14
