The Fire of Love

Spark it. Ignite it. Combust it. Detonate it in the day or in the night. Heaven’s hearth is burning bright where Jesus’ heart is open wide for His Beloved. Real love never stops beating with the heartbeat of Heaven.

Heartbeats from God’s soul pulsate all the way to earth’s crust. Taste the magnitude of every longitude and latitude preparing to give their gratitude to God in highest Heaven. Feel the sound of every nation and vocation dropping every reservation looking up to Jesus’ coming on the clouds. The Lord is near. Earth itself groans with anticipation of His coming.

“We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.” Romans 8:22

Love groans for its beloved. Love aches for its beloved. Even the earth is in love with its God. It knows its Maker. It knows its Savior. And we are the ones He calls His own.

The eyes of love know love is alive. It sees new life awakened daily despite the fall of Eden’s failing. Jesus regenerates the world He loves. Because of the people He loves. So He comes for the people He loves.

Love never dies.

“But our citizenship is in Heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like His glorious body, by the power that enables Him even to subject all things to Himself.” Philippians 3:20-21

God subjects death to Himself. There is no death for the One in love with Jesus.

There’s a fire in His heart. It always was there. It always will be there. Like a dormant volcano, it erupts when the time is right to incline His eyes on the earth below. He rises to stand. Steps off His throne and dives head first into the abyss of earth. Jesus, we wait for you. Our love ever burns for you.

Nothing extinguishes love.

“Place me like a seal over your heart,
    like a seal on your arm;
for love is as strong as death,
    its jealousy unyielding as the grave.
It burns like blazing fire,
    like a mighty flame.
Many waters cannot quench love;
    rivers cannot sweep it away.
If one were to give
    all the wealth of one’s house for love,
    it would be utterly scorned.”

Song of Solomon 8:6-7

What are you willing to give for love?

The Bible says in Song of Solomon you need not give anything to buy it. It’s not for sale. It comes to you. Its destined for you. No one can buy the love that belongs to you and no one can take the love that belongs to you. You cannot buy a lover nor can you work for a lover.

Love is yours freely. This is why its costly. To the One who gave it… Jesus Himself. Jesus gave you love, and He is the One who orchestrated it. He is the one who sparked the flame and fanned the flame at the same time because your fire of love was given to you and your lover.

The love God created for you to have is a love that belongs to you. If it is truly love, then nothing will be able to sweep it away or put out its flame. If it is truly love, then you will not have to buy anything to maintain it nor have to protect it from the storm.

Love endures everything.

Love is pure enough to withstand every assailant.

Love endures to the end.

Love joyfully lays down its life for its Beloved.

Let love’s fires consume you. Let love’s sincerity rejuvenate you. Let love itself transform you with eternal life from your God through Jesus Christ. He is love.

Love ecstatically experiences the benefits of love’s devotion.

You only become who God envisioned you to be through love. Let love have its effect on you.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

1 Corinthians 13:4-13
