Rock N Roll – Part 3

Part 3

When Jesus rose from the grave, the stone rolled away. Jesus carries eternity in His veins and so life is always abundant from Him.

“Early on Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance.”
‭‭John‬ ‭20‬:‭1‬ ‭

Jesus rolls stones from empty tombs to save us from death and give new life.

Jesus is the rock of our salvation.

Jesus wants us to build our lives on the rock.

“Anyone who listens to My teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.”  Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭24‬ ‭

When Jesus rose from the grave, He appeared to Mary Magdalene because she waited at the tomb. She would not leave until she found out where Jesus was.

Wait on Jesus and He shows up for you.

“She turned to leave and saw someone standing there. It was Jesus, but she didn’t recognize Him. “Dear woman, why are you crying?” Jesus asked her. “Who are you looking for?” She thought He was the gardener. “Sir,” she said, “if you have taken Him away, tell me where you have put Him, and I will go and get Him.” John 20:14-15

Send me! Mary says. Her bravery inspired Peter to come and see the tomb where Jesus had risen from when she went to find him in John 20:2-3. Now her bravery to wait until she sees the light of Jesus and discover His whereabouts invites His presence.

“Mary!” Jesus said. She turned to Him and cried out, “Rabboni!” (which is Hebrew for “Teacher”).”
‭‭John‬ ‭20‬:‭16

After this encounter Jesus had a mission for Mary.

“…But go find my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, to My God and your God.’” Mary Magdalene found the disciples and told them, “I have seen the Lord!” Then she gave them His message.”
‭‭John‬ ‭20‬:‭17‬-‭18‬ ‭

Mary carried Jesus’ message. Soon the disciples would carry His gospel message also as Jesus would commission them go and share the gospel with the whole world in Acts 1:8.
