“Where is she!?”
“Skye, slow down,” says The King.
“I demand to know how and why you let him put his hands on her!” I zoom into the throne room rapidly. My eyes rage like molten sapphire.
“You weren’t.”
My mouth opens. Then closes.
Adjacent to my posture, Zeal stands guard with amethyst flames and dark skin. I look down and back at my father, trying to compose myself in reverence.
“Was I suppose to?”
“You let your bride go without love. Without so much as a touch. I sent in reinforcements.”
“Reinforcements!?”
“Do you dare question My ways! Forget not who you are talking to!” My father shouts.
Thunder roars. His blue eyes blaze with fiery hues, and transform into turquoise flames and emeralds. My head bows.
“Lilly belongs to me,” I protest inwardly and inhale a deep breath.
“Not anymore, General. My bride will not suffer the fate of your absent apathy. Do not arouse her and leave her to pine. Get the job done from now on.”
Zeal hovers in and speaks with confidence. “King Worthy, Leafe is here to see you.”
“Leafe!” I charge at him full force. Zeal steps in and blocks my arms from slamming into the heart of his immortality. “I will have your wings obliterated!”
He stands unshaken, strong face, dark skin and green eyes. Without a hint of guilt. How can he stand there as if my eyes have not seen.
“You touched my fiance!”
“The King gave me permission, General. Was I to deny His request?”
