Beautifully Shocked

Towering chandeliers drape the ceiling like liquid diamonds. Marble floors of silvery black shine like glossy sateen. Cynthia wraps blush pink ribbons around her ankles and up into a bow. Pink chiffon accents her shoulders just barely beneath her tightly pulled bun. She gazes around the room to find the clock 2 minutes before 7:00.

The door opens and starry navy filters in from the night.

“He’s here!” Her voice echoes through the ballroom.

“Here?” The maestro inquires with baton in hand.

“Yes, here!”

Loud footsteps grace the marble floors as he walks towards the ballerina. He bends down to finish the last tie on her ballet shoes.

“Are you ready, Cynthia?” His voice woos her like the moonlight beckons the tide.

“Waiting for you, Kai!” Her eyes look up and find him dreamily.

“I have no doubt you could rule this floor without me,” he esteems her. He stands and she rises at his invocation.

“Why rule alone when we can double the power?” Her pupils widen as his flame like molten lava.

“If you insist, my love.” He kisses her forehead.

Blast! The orchestra sounds with cellos and violins initiating the serenade. At once, their feet move in tandem across the dancefloor glowing from the backlights. He leads her. Twirl once, twirl twice. He holds her frame steady through pirouettes and pulls her closer.

“On three,” he whispers, as he prepares for the lift. Then, without another pause, he thrusts her into the air with arms extended.

“I thought you were going to count to three!” She gasps.

“I wanted to shock you,” he looks up at her ballerina stance arced above him. Her arms elongate and feet point as he circles her slowly in the middle of the dance floor.

Flip! He tosses her into the air with a quick lunge and catch. Then, embraces her tightly.

The music halts as the symphony watches them frozen in action. Two timeless lovers caught in a moment, unable to move except closer to one another. Heart to heart.

“Perfect catch, Kai,” she glows.

“I bought shocks for my shoes this time.”

“Pick me up again. Shock me again,” she replies beaming.

Jesus’ presence shocks you.

He leans in to whisper under the bright chandelier, “I thought you’d never ask.”

Get ready for Jesus to shock you.

The anticipation is building with every second, every moment, every hour. His presence soothes you. God’s Kingdom brings you into His royal fellowship of love and eternal living.

“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty warrior who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by His love; He will exult over you with loud singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

Jesus shocks you with His love.

Jesus shocks you with His kindness.

Jesus shocks you with His song of passion.

Jesus shocks you with His soothing calmness.

Jesus shocks you with His raging power.

Jesus’ presence is our highest need. He teaches us how to show up for the ones we love and impart His healing love into others’ hearts.

“You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.” Psalm 16:11

Shock the world with every fruit of the Spirit it needs to flourish. You awaken souls to life with your love.

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be encumbered once more by a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1

God wants to shock you with the freedom and sweetness of His love. Seek Him above all else, for our lives center around the one God named Jesus Christ.

God’s presence transforms you on the inside, because it affects every negative emotion and feeling and catalyzes it into good, pleasing, enjoyable, beneficial emotions and feelings. God’s presence soothes our soul.

“Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8

When Jesus returns, He will shock the earth with His appearing. His presence will initiate Armageddon. His presence will trigger the end to unfold, so that we can finally belong with the lover of our Soul in the place we are meant to dwell. Jesus shows us He is King.

“Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems, and He has a name written that no one knows but himself.” Revelation 19:11-12

His eyes flame for His beloved. His heart burns for His beloved. His purpose unleashes for His beloved to be with Him for all eternity.

“And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army. And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.” Revelation 19:19-20

Jesus comes back to destroy the devil and everything the devil caused. Satan will fight against Jesus but he will not win. Jesus wins. Jesus saves you. Jesus fights for you. Jesus pursues you in such a way that not even hell can stand against His claim on you.

The beginning of the book of Revelation foreshadows this return. He will indeed shock the earth.

“Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of Him. Even so. Amen.” Revelation 1:7

Shock our system, audacious King. Shock our world, luminescent Lord. Shock our expectations, fragrant Holy Spirit. Your ways are glorious. We wait for you to come back for us, reigning with power and splendor forever. Jesus, we love You.

shock me like

shooting stars

on a clear blue night

shock me like

strawberry hearts

on a mountain of thyme

Your ways are beautiful

Your love gets sweeter and sweeter

Your love gets better and better

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23
