God Is Beautiful

God’s beauty astounds the Heavens to behold Him as the fire of passionate enchantment rises to adore Him. Rocks cry out in glory with the multitudes to worship the One who captivates the universe with His pulchritude. Angels rave in war chants to hail His victorious loveliness over the demons and darkness who flee at the sound of His voice radiating with attractiveness.

All-surpassing beauty. All-surprising handsomeness. All-encompassing presence. This is our God, Jesus Christ.

“Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.” Psalm 50:2

Jesus is a great God. Jesus is the paragon of immortality. Eternity. Beauty.

The Hebrew word for “beauty” in Psalm 50:2 is yophi which means “beauty,” “splendor,” “loveliness,” with respect to physical attractiveness that extends into the spiritual realm of awe and beauty. Zion, God’s creation, is beautiful to behold and it showcases His beauty. His beauty is perfect. He is perfect. In other words, God is a delight to look at.

Look at God.

Look at how attractive He is.

God wants to be admired for His beauty, glory, allure, and substance as God. God delights the ones who behold Him. He is the most glorious being in existence.

The word yophi is also used in Isaiah 33:17 to describe God’s enticing appearance.

“Your eyes will behold the king in His beauty; they will see a land that stretches afar.” Isaiah 33:17

Your eyes see accurately when you look at God’s beauty and extravagant Kingdom. His glorious light and radiance cannot be ignored nor overlooked. Satan sees God and knows how beautiful He is, and there is nothing he can do to cover it up. God’s splendor will be seen.

God’s creation illuminates the beauty of God. Light, sun, oceans, mountains, vegetation, the elements… every atom of what God made came through the hands of perfection. Thus, every aspect of God’s creation of the universe is His brilliant beautiful work. See how enthralling God is by what He made for us.

He desires you and I to enjoy the world He made and see His fingerprints on it.

God’s fingerprints are everywhere. Zion shows the evidence of His perfect beauty as the Garden of Eden intended, and one day, we will see God’s perfection in Zion just as the psalmist wrote about in Psalm 50:2 before Christ came to die as the Messiah for the sins of the world. The psalmist hoped in that promise of the Messiah and thus, He saw the beauty of God in the future Zion.

Keep the hope of Zion in your heart and soul all the time. Zion points you to God, a higher beauty than the world has to offer.

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” Isaiah 52:7

Publishing news of the beauty of God brings happiness to your spirit.

“God is our refuge and strength,
    a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
    though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam,
    though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
    the holy habitation of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;
    God will help her when morning dawns.
The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;
    He utters His voice, the earth melts.
The Lord of hosts is with us;
    the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

Come, behold the works of the Lord,
    how He has brought desolations on the earth.
He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
    He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
    He burns the chariots with fire.” Psalm 46:1-9

You stand unconquerable when Jesus is your God. There is no other God besides Him.

Beauty empowers Him to win victories. His beauty shines striking light that decimates His enemies. His beauty halts darkness that assails His Kingdom. His beauty will not be rivaled. His beauty is bestowed on His people and His Kingdom.

God uses His beauty to extend pure goodness in the universe. He does not use His beauty and power for corruption. Satan, however, put all of his trust in his beauty and allowed it to be a snare.

“Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you.” Ezekiel 28:17

Pride led Satan to rebellion and separation from God. Beauty was never the problem with God, because God made Satan beautiful. It was Satan’s own pride to think that his beauty made him better than God that it soured and corrupted his very being to rival God’s throne. So God threw him out.

Now that we have been born into a fallen world, where sin and decay exists, God decides that He wants to besto His beauty on us as a gift.

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26

God loves that you are beautiful just like Him.

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9

God calls you to shine radiantly for Him.

shimmer bright

glitz alight

Jesus’ shine

adorns His Bride

God inspires

Heaven’s heights

arise in flight

arouse the night

to glow with fire

glimmer higher

God’s desire

woos enchantment

do you hear Me

My love

I hear You

my Lord

Your voice invokes

the angels chords

to sing a chorus

chant the forest

waken from their dreams

to see the King

Jesus is the beautiful King

“On His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.”

Revelation 19:16
