Holy Spirit Conception

“Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.”

Matthew 1:18

There’s an orchestra birthing in the Heavens… the soundtrack of a conception descending on the hearts of man. From the Holy Place. The trinity of God Himself. The Christmas caroles first sung to the One who’s name is worthy of the love. I can hear it rippling… vocalizing angels harmonies. The day the Holy Spirit birthed the Son on earth.

It’s traveling… delicately… vehemently… purely… powerfully in the atmosphere inundating a residence where no one has dwelt before. Never been touched. Instantaneously a womb is opened. A woman chosen. To host the holy of holies on the earth. The ark of the covenant indwelling an innocent girl with the hope of the world… a sinless propitiation emanating from within her… born of the Holy Spirit. A baby.

Jesus.

Mary… her life transfigured.

In a cataclysmic moment Mary’s womb became prolific with the holy One.

When God births something, He finds a pure vessel to host His Spirit. To safeguard it from contamination.

Mary was not sinless in the human aspect but her virginity was still intact completely and thus God chose her womb. To highlight that Jesus’ birth was a miracle and not born of men.

God creates miracles where man cannot.

Mary is elated at the hearing of this gift…

“And Mary said, My soul magnifies the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
    For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.” Luke 1:46-49

I love Mary’s heart for the Lord to serve Him no matter what the cost. Considering the impregnation comes upon her before her and Joseph are married, Mary would bear the stigma of an unwed mother. Those who knew the Lord would know the truth. But some would not. Just as Jesus was rejected and nailed to a cross. Mary would carry this stigma, yet it doesn’t concern her.

When you know the Holy Spirit imparted the revelation, you don’t worry about others’ perception.

She knew where the baby came from.

And she is elated at the joy of hosting God’s holy son.

Do you know where the baby came from?

What God birthed in you?

When you know where the anointing came from, you don’t doubt it’s purity.

“The pure in heart will see God,” Matthew 5:8 says.

When God births a Holy Spirit anointing in you, it’s powerful and sharp. Meant to awaken and revive. Refine and stir. When Jesus came in the Holy Spirit’s anointing, many listened but others did not. Those who have an ear to hear, let them hear.

What God implants in you by His Spirit won’t always be received by others. But it will bring salvation. It may not be understood by others. But it will prophesy what God utters in the earth.

Mary was misunderstood by the community.
But she was hosting the whole world’s salvation.

God is not concerned with what it looks like.
God is concerned with what it IS.

Mary appeared to be impure to a world who saw her baby bump showing without a wedding ring. But little did they know she was the purest one, saturated with favor from the Lord… chosen by God and hosting the Savior of the world.

“And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.” Luke 1:30

Don’t judge by appearances.

In the pure in heart, God will impregnate His anointing. And it will not always be received by the outside world.

Jesus would go on to be killed… and to this day, His holiness scorned by those who don’t want Him, until the day comes when He splits open the sky to gather His own into the New Heaven and Earth. We await that day.

“To the pure, all things are pure, but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their minds and their consciences are defiled.” Titus 1:15

The pure in heart host the innocence of the Spirit of God. But if someone has not been born again into the new Spirit of God, everything is contaminated. And everything from them impure.

Purity is mocked by a contemptuous world. And impurity celebrated.

But those who do seek Him will hear your words and so be blessed and rescued. Just like Mary.

God chose to create a pure Holy Spirit conception.
For the Son of God.
To bring forth His redemption.
And he needed a virgin girl to do it.

If God were to choose a married woman to host Jesus in her womb, her body would have already intercoursed with another man in her body. Invalidating God’s purity as the only host. God had to be the only host in her body. So he chose a virgin. But in doing so, it broke the cultural standards of when it’s appropriate to be pregnant.

God will shatter your cultural norms so He can indoctrinate His.
What He does is pure.

So He chose what appeared dirty to everyone, an unwed pregnant mother, so that He could create the most pure birth that ever taken place in history.

A virgin impregnated by the Holy Spirit.

It’s beautiful and breathtakingly marvelous what God did… and the audacity He has to stomp on every rationale and logic we present for why things should be a certain way.

God is God and there is no other.

He will not bow our rules and protocols.

He will not change for us.

We change for Him.

He will do what HE wants to. What He does is good… and it’s so pure that it boggles our definition of good.

What humans say is pure is not pure. Only what God says is pure is pure.

Our definition of good needs to implode so we can get aligned with God’s definition of good.

Joseph experienced this in Matthew chapter 1, upon hearing of His fiance’s pregnancy. He knew he had not slept with her as they had not yet been married.

Joseph was a man of integrity and purity before the Lord. Wanting to please God in every way and also honor his bride, Mary.

“And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly.” Matthew 1:19

Joseph did not conspire to ruin Mary nor upstir strife against her. He loved her… love removes shame and he was willing to “divorce her quietly” instead of make her a public spectacle. Joseph was trying to do the best he could with what he knew.

The problem is, he didn’t know the whole story.

When you don’t know the whole story, you end up making the wrong assertion.

But when Jospeh finally heard from the Lord about Mary’s impregnantion… He knew.

Hear from God and you will know what is true.

Mary was truly hosting a holy child, as a virgin.

Hear from the Lord before you hear from anyone else.
Hear from the Lord before you make a decision according to cultural norms.
Hear from the Lord when in confusion.
His Word is the only true, pure word.
I find my life awakened by hearing from Him alone.
I love to hear from the Lord… and He has so much to say if we want to give our lives to Him. Give our wombs to Him. So He can fill it with a Holy Spirit conception that surpasses anything else man can give us.

Be impregnanted with the Holy Spirit.
And you will change the world.

What I love about Joseph is he allows himself to also be impregnated by the Holy Spirit also… through His spirit… by hearing what the angel had to say and not casting the angel away.

If you truly want to hear God, listen to Him when He speaks through His angels.

“But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:20

Do you listen to God when He speaks?

He’s always speaking… and it may seem outlandish. But when you have been born again into the new Spirit of God, accepting salvation, you gain a pure heart so that you can hear from God and believe Him when He speaks.

I notice in this passage that Jospeh had a pure spirit inlaid in him to be open to hearing from the Lord in a dream and also believing it.

This commissions him forward to make a decision to say yes to God. Granting him with blessing and anointing to join Mary in this journey of raising the Holy child, Jesus, despite the obstacles that would accompany them along the way.

If you will listen to God when He speaks, you will live the greater life He has for you.

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of My hand.” John 10:27-28

Believe His words…

Receive protection and security…

Embrace intimacy…

Experience abundant satisfaction.

“When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife, but knew her not until she had given birth to a son. And he called his name Jesus.” Matthew 1:24-25

Joseph obeyed.
Mary obeyed.

I think this is why they were chosen.

They believed in God… amidst a generation of people who did not all believe.

At this point in history, Malachi was the last prophet to speak from God. No word had been spoken from the prophets in 400 years leading up to this. And the hope of the Messiah was growing weary. But not for Mary. Not for Joseph. They heard the Messiah was entering into their home and they said Yes Lord… you can choose me.

“And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.” Luke 1:38

nothing like being chosen
by you
my King
held by You
known by You
keep choosing me everyday
as greater sensations
await in the secret place
where You and I
dwell together
forever

Let God choose you… He wants to.❤️

He wants to love you… know you… lavish you… adorn you with affection.

We must look to Him and all He says is good, not looking to the world to be our barometer by which we live.

Only God is the standard.

“The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God endures forever.” Isaiah 40:8

His definition of good will extract you from the status quo.
His definition of good will empower you to overturn this world.
His definition of good will engender a love so deep you’ll never be lacking.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

The Bible says God’s will is good.

Perfect.

Unlike the patterns of the world engrained in the cultural fabric.

Do not be conformed to the world!

Renew your mind!

We need a renewal of the mind if we want to truly understand what God defines as good.

This only comes from the Holy Spirit at work in our soul… through salvation in Jesus Christ…rebirth into a new and holy being in relationship with Him.

The days are growing closer as Mary’s contractions meet the others in faster repetition. The son is approaching… the season is nearing… where Emmanuel will meet us face to face.

Joseph is holding her close but the God of the universe is holding her closer. His babydoll. Imparting His son into the world waiting for hope to dawn and they don’t even know it. World wide awake, if you could only see the love the Father has for you… world asleep, if you could only see the God who longs to bring you close. He’s here… for you.

I can see Mary looking at the womb now growing more and more everyday from the touch of God inside her. His Spirit breathed something miraculous in her. And now it’s going to touch the world.

Touch the world, Jesus…

Touch the world, Holy Spirit…

Come and touch the world with Your presence.

when You plunged
upon me
I felt the gravity
of something other worldly

simplicity of a serenity
brewing from You
unlike anything I’ve ever known

I’ll never leave you
You say
I never want You to

I love being
intertwined
with love
divine
speak forth
your Kingdom come
to every heart
like You did in mine

you’ll always
be Mine
My beloved

thank you for
hosting Me
embracing Me
in your
soul
to save the ones
I’m calling
home

“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call Him Immanuel.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭
