Reign with The King

God’s name is holy. The name of Jesus.

His name provokes a reaction upon interaction with Him. Triggering a heart response when His all-encompassing glory is made known.

What exists in the heart comes out when the name of Jesus is spoken.

Yesterday I encountered the innards of another spilling out from behind the counter where a store employee resided. Proceeding to harass for the name on my clear face shield. “Jesus is King” is marked on it, that I painted. My face shield has prompted many conversations with folks, across the spectrum of faith and I enjoy getting to talk about who Jesus is to me and connect with others to share with them. But not everyone is open to talking about the Lord. And many have loaded feelings. This occasion was one for the books.

Over time I’m learning more and more to love those who persecute you and you will see them how God sees them.

Jesus is always looking to save. Looking to love.

Humanity is so complex and layered with many experiences that inhabit a person and it’s important for us to be understanding and kind to others even when mistreated. For that is what Jesus modeled for us. And we can leave the rest up to Him and move forward where God says.

Jesus said, “And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town.” Let it go and know that the seed you planted and the heart you got to interact with will be touched by the Holy Spirit in some capacity.

Jesus says you are blessed when others revile you and say all kinds of wicked things on account of His name in Matthew 5:11.

I’m not shaken by it.

But I feel the zeal of the Lord stirring something…
reminding the world that He is King!

A couple hours later God kept speaking.

I was walking in a store and all the sudden a boy fell down on the ground in front of me. That shocked me. I stopped. Then immediately God said this to me… kings and queens will bow before Me.

It was Jesus’ Name.

At His Name, everything bows.

I can see a vision of the end of days where every living creature bows before the glory of God.

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:11

And all will bow before Him.

my heart falls at the sight of You

on the floor of a sea of glass

inlaid by You

where Heaven is in perfect view

 diamond hues

of sparkling light all around me

when You speak to me

You lift me

to see

Your face

and every care slips away

in the moment

where Your embrace

says I love you

and I will worship You

all my days

keep embracing me forever

Jesus is a kind King. A loving God. He doesn’t demand that we worship or bow but He does deserve it. And we will regardless. But I can’t help but think of the tender hearted love of Jesus in Revelation 1:17

In this passage, John is falling before the Lord at the sight of His glory… and Jesus comforts Him, picking Him up to remind Him He doesn’t have to fear.

“And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.”

I love that Jesus bows low to pick us up when we fall to bow before Him. He’s deserving of every honor. Of our respect face down on the floor. But He wants us to see Him face to face. He wants our love more. He wants to be with us and connect with us.

If Jesus is the “first and the last” that means that there is nothing outside of Him that has power over Him. He takes care of everything from beginning to end. And we need not fear anything in the world no matter how evil it may seem because it has to bow to the supremacy of God and His jurisdiction over all time and space.

“It is written: “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’” Romans 14:11

Right now there are kings and queens sitting high on thrones void of God, rejecting Jesus as Lord. One day those thrones will fall.

But there are others… ✨

The kings and queens whom Jesus made.
Whom He predestined to radiate His beauty.
And manifest His power in the earth.

Reign for Jesus and you impart Heavenly healing in the earth, calming souls and wooing the eternal to slay the death in our midst.

It may get messy when you carry God’s power but that’s where life is generated.

When I think of Jesus in the gospels carrying His power in the earth, demons shook and cried out at the nearing of His coming. When Jesus got clsoer they could sense it. It compelled a reaction.

“Son of David!” they would shout.

It would cause an uproar in the surrouding area.

In Mark chapter 1 immediately at the beginning of Jesus’ ministry, His presence already provokes a reaction. There is a man possessed by a demon and yet his spirit recognizes Jesus’ real identity even more than the other people do.

“Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!” Mark 1:23-24

I know who you are! the man said…

The Holy One of God!

Even the demons cannot ignore the true Name of Jesus Christ. Spiritual beings understand each other, even if on other sides. Satan knows who God is and the only reason He is allowed to reside in the earth for a short time is because God gave him that for a short time. But the day is coming when that will come to an end.

Many other instances in the gospels there are those plagued with diseases who also understand Jesus’ divine nature and they respond accordingly. Calling Him “Son of David,” as was prophesied of Him in the Old Testament.

In matthew chapter 9, two men recognize Jesus and declare this Son of David epithet.

“When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” Matthew 9:27-28

Anytime anclean spirit recognizes Jesus, they always say “Have mercy on me.” Mercy is the antidote for wrath. The only way to avert the destruction impending Satan’s reign. Evil spirits beg Jesus for mercy because they now understand they just got within feet of the God who has the power to crush them in one blow.

It’s amazing that this God would love us so deeply.

To know He cares for us. Even though He is so much higher above us. And that He creates us to dwell with Him in the Heavens. We will reign with Him one day.

You were not created to live disjointed from God and angered at Your Maker. He is the only One for you… He died to make that clear and express His love for you. Jesus is always on the lookout for where He can bring life and heal His people.

In this passage, the blind men see Jesus. And they follow Him.

You spirit will follow something… take notice of that. These men knew Jesus was holy so they followed Him regardless of their physical sight. Jesus takes notice also…

Jesus asks the blind men following Him… “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” verse 28.

Your miracle is contigent on your belief.

I love the blind men’s belief in Jesus to heal Him. They didn’t need to see in order to claim full confidence in Jesus’ power.

There was something potent in His presence that told them all they needed to know: Jesus was God. Though they could not see Him with their eyes, they saw His glory fully.

They bowed before His glory with their hearts. And they were lifted up to restoration and redemption because of it.

“Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” Matthew 9:29

According to your faith…

let it be done to you.

What kind of faith do you have?

The amount of faith you demonstrate beckons God to move, from what Jesus says here. If you ask with full faith that Jesus is able to, then He will. Jesus said, “And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me for anything in My name, I will do it.” John 14:13-14

Who’s name are you asking in?

Jesus’ name?

Or another name?

The world wants you to put your trust in your possessions, your abilities, your job, your schooling, the world, societal norms but it cannot deliver. Those don’t hold the power for eternal security. But God does. These things are not bad if they are given from the Lord and He loves to bless us, but if we trust in these to secure us it won’t work.

Jesus Christ is the Name that opens the door.

Don’t trust in anyone else’s name but God’s.

One day, we will reign with Jesus because He created us for this identity. When I think about reigning with God, I think but God you can reign all by Yourself why do you want us to reign with You? I’d rather you do all the reigning. You’re worthy of that responsibility. But when I read scripture it says we will reign with Him.

“Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with Him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with Him.” 2 Timothy 2:12

God entrusts us with authority given by Him.

When you say yes to Jesus as Lord and Savior, He crowns you as His beloved.

Angelic and pure.

Powerful and strong.

Royal family.

Because you’re His.

He grants you a royal lineage with Him. This God who rules the universe… He wants to commune with You, precious ones.

It reminds me of when Jesus bowed low to wash Peter’s feet in John 13 and he said to Jesus, No! You can’t wash my feet, Lord! But Jesus said to Peter… “If you do not let me wash you, you have no part with Me.” Then Peter said, Yes Lord you can wash my whole body if you want to.

So it is with this gift of dwelling with Him forever to reign with Him.

It’s not something we would ever expect Jesus to grant us. But it is our heritage nonetheless. If we are God’s people, we are meant to reign with Him. It’s inevitable that we will. If we say we don’t want to reign with God then we have no part with Him. We are a Heavenly people by God’s own choice to create us this way and we say yes to that design and step into the role He gives us. Knowing He is the only One we worship.

“To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3:21

To reign with God means we are given Heavenly authority and power as His people, but He is still God and the only God.

God is the only One worthy of worship.

“And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:

“Blessing and honor and glory and power

Be to Him who sits on the throne,
And to the Lamb, forever and ever!” Then the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.”

Revelation 5:13-14

This reminds me of Revelation chapter 19 where John heard a word from an angel of the Lord and John falls at his feet to worship him, but the angel says Don’t. Stand up! Worship God, for I am but a servant alongside you.

“Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 19:10

We worship Jesus alone. No one else. Not even angels nor seraphim. Nor pioneers of the faith. We worship Jesus, and Jesus lifts us to reign with Him.

Right now there are kings and queens who already bow before the Lord in glory. In reverence. In love. In honor. In generosity to give their whole hearts to the One who’s worthy.

And Jesus says, “Don’t be afraid… stand up… reign for Me… look upon My face dear one… Behold Me and see Me looking back at you with love I could never stop ceasing to give you… you’re Mine forever.” ♥️

God is the one to clothe us with glory and honor.

Likewise, we honor one another with dignity, respect and royalty under the mantle of Jesus as our King.

Uplift your brothers and sisters just as Jesus uplifts you.

Empower you brothers and sisters just as Jesus empowers you.

Honor your brothers and sisters just as Jesus honors you.

Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.” John 13:14

Godly leadership serves and imparts glory to the other. That’s what God does for us. And we are to serve in this manner as we exist in this life before we enter into the eternal life awaiting us.

“And He has made us kings and priests to our God;
And we shall reign on the earth.”

Revelation 5:10

You are Jesus’ royalty, designed to impart His glorious light in the earth.

As we bow for the One who rules the universe in wonderous awe, we find Him coming closer… picking us up to hold us tightly… welcoming us into a family where we are one with Him… and elevated to the Heavens where He is… a royal priesthood made to echo His glory and be held in eternal love.

Reign for Jesus and encounter more of the King who delights to call you His beloved.

Don’t stop standing for Jesus!

Be Jesus’ king.
Be Jesus’ queen.
Your mantle is needed to carry His salvation.

with You

I want to dwell with You

holy King You’re worthy to

be given every drop

of affection

we bring to You

Your Beloveds made alive

a royal people shining bright

by the light

of the Tree of life

“If we endure, we will also reign with Him.” 2 Timothy 2:12
