“He has set eternity in their hearts…” ♥️ Ecclesiastes 3:11
Timeless. Classic. Luxuriant and romantic. Like a sapphire on the shores of oceanic enchantment. Like a ruby in the tree of life He planted. His heart is in you… His glow is on you…
Timeless. Immortal. Beautiful and lyrical. Your soul will never end because of Heaven’s providence. It is our God’s extravagant benevolent new covenant alive within you. Because He touched you to touch the world. To touch their world. To touch my world. Everything collides when time enfolds into eternity divinely connected by His sovereignty.
You illuminate Him… the God who touched you with His glory.
And you will live forever.
“Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning… And this is the promise He has promised us—eternal life.” 1 John 2:24-25
What He spoke from the beginning… it still stands. His declaration over you as His beloved.
The record plays on and on of His love for you… “Come now My beloved bride… forever My beloved bride…” ♥️
Hear the music showering over you.
He promised you… eternal life. Where love saturates and it does now… cover you all over you. Let it wash over you. Let it permeate you. His love. Eternal love.
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.” John 5:24
Jesus is eternal life.
An eternal God. An eternal hope. As our Lord shook the grave and ascended into His Heavenly dwelling place.
Life is now and life is forever.
It isn’t running out… when Jesus has you.
Life with Him is infinite.
Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.” John 10:27-28
Jesus describes us as being in His hand. Unable to be removed because He hold us safe and guarded from any kind of intruder. Jesus is the prime caretaker, warrior and protector of His beloved. He safeguards your life and your eternal life. Becaue He loves you… You are made infinitely alive from being touched by Him. Held by Him. It’s an intimate relationship of closeness and knowing.
Jesus experienced the pain of being touched by the ones who murdered Him. And He understands the dynamics of how touch affects the body. He made it after all… our human body and all its components.
Touch is a powerful agent of human experience. It’s made possible from the brain in coordination with receptors all over that body that work like sensors to alert the brain. and then you feel the touch. Instantaneously. How do you feel when you touch the world and objects around you? It’s an exhilirating experience to interact with the objects in both nature and in the created world of man. We were made to exist with it and feel it by God’s design.
Touch awakens the human enjoyment of what it sees and hears.
How do you feel when you are touched by another? By someone you love? By a friend?
Human touch is one of the biggest agents of comfort from one person to another. Science reveals that touch alleviates anxiety, depression, discouragement and lethargy because it triggers the need for human connection in the brain and fulfills it at the same time. A hug. It comforts you. A hand held. It secures you. A kiss from your significant other. It enlivens you. God made us to touch and be touched. In pure love. Pure goodness.
The apostle Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 13:12, “Greet one another with a holy kiss.” Again in 1 Thessalonians 5:26 he says this again: “Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.” And again in Romans 16:16: “Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you.”
Paul was an exemplar lover of people. He went from murderer to healer overnight. Because he got touched by Jesus… It made him eternal and he understood life was precious. So he never again sought to take another’s life. He only sought to uplift it and nurture it.
When you understand life is precious, you protect it no matter what.
When you understand life is beautiful, you seek to love generously and selflessly.
Paul valued human life.
So he used touch in a holy way not a harmful way.
A greeting kiss was a cultural custom of their day to greet in this way not impurely but with kindness and friendship. Many cultures around the world do the same to this day although we do not practice this as much in America. What it shows us is that touch is meant to be a gift from God of union with one another.
Pure touch amplifies your relationships.
God is a good God whose touch will always be good.
Jesus felt the discomfort of the wrong kinds of touch through assault and battery in his crucifixion on the cross. The violation that invades a human’s right to experience connection with another in pure hearted interaction. He was tortured in a way the human body was not meant to be treated. So you can go to Him with anything you may have experienced in the past. Because HE is your healer. “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2:24
Jesus is our healer and he heals through a touch.
Like the woman encroaching upon Jesus in Matthew chapter 9 who said, “If I can just touch the hem of his garment then I will be made well” (verse 21).
She trusted the touch of Jesus even in her own physical ailment. An ailment that would render her sore and untouchable and probably not wanting anyone to touch her. But she wanted Jesus to… because His touch would heal her forever. His touch was timeless. Eternal. Loving. Everything she needed…
Jesus regenerates you with eternal life… through a touch of love.
“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” 1 John 5:11
I don’t know why God is pouring this out right now but I feel the Holy Spirit saying there are many out there who have experienced the pains of wrong touch and I feel the Lord wanting to give back that gift of pure touch… and help the world to filter out the impure touches that are not meant for the human experience. Assault. Abuse. Control. Rape. Molestation. You were never meant to experience that… and Jesus in His holiness wants to give you back what was taken from you. Because touch is meant to be a joy for you. The gift of interacting with your loved ones in a pure way that mirrors the ways of Heaven, where we are headed.
Jesus died on the cross and slayed evil making a way for you to experience the right kinds of touch.
From pure love.
Connection with others.
Connection with the world around you.
Touch from the Lord is always uplifting.
“Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.” John 13:5
In John chapter 13, Jesus connects with His disciples through physical touch. It may not be the kind we normally associate with love like hugs, kisses, handshakes and sexual intimacy. But it is a deeply moving moment of touch that also transcends their heart and ways of thinking.
Jesus touches their feet.
The dirty part of them.
To wash them and clean them. To take care of them.
This is the nurturing side of Jesus. The kindness and loving example of selfless leadership. The model of love. To take care of another’s physical needs not just in what you can get out of it but in what you will get messy from in the process when you begin. Jesus was stained from the mud on their feet but He did something so powerful for his men. Showing them he truly cared about their whole person and was not afraid to get himself in a mess in order to clean up theirs. This undoubtedly remained with the disciples into the years after Jesus’ ascension. Reminding them what it means to take care of others selflessly. Touch is selfless when pure. It looks to protect and heal. To cleanse and love. To comfort.
Jesus knew how to touch in a way that moved both the body and the heart.
“But Jesus came and touched them, saying, “Rise, and have no fear.” Matthew 17:7
Touch is transcendent of physicality. We can be touched through our hearts also. Touched in our minds. Touched in our souls. Have you ever had something touch you where it impacted you significantly? This is another means by which the human body experiences connection with others, through the emotional cognition of the brain feeling an impact from what it experienced.
This is also a gift from God. To be touched in a way that moves your heart.
and I’m healed forever
touch me and I soar to better
touch me and I’m whole again
and dancing again
for Your love is better
touch me and I’m yours forever
We were made to be touched in our hearts so that we would be able to connect with a Spiritual God in an intimate way. To interact with Him and hear from Him. Then to pour out of our hearts everything He pours in so we can impact the world around us with His touch of love to them.
“Then the Lord put out his hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.” Jeremiah 1:3
Let God’s touch heal someone else through you.
Jesus holds you in His hands… a touch that will only care for you never harm you. A touch that will only heal you never wound you. A touch that will always delight you and forever move you with the desire to love Him back.
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4
Jesus is a kind lover. His touch brings life and joy forever.
Jesus knows how to keep you. And make you thrive forever.
You are an infinite, dazzling work of art created to bring God glory and to tell the world of the story of love given for every heart to know our God. His touch has made you radiant. His touch has made you powerful. His touch has made you compelling and fruitful. His touch has made you joy-filled and abounding in goodness. His touch has beautified you with a beauty that lasts forever… both now and into the life to come. Eternity awaits… because Jesus made a way.
You are timeless. Dashing. Fearless and everlasting.
You are in His hands…
Empowered and glistening.
A regal gem eternally divine.
A royal diadem made to shine. 💖
“For those who find me find eternal life
and receive favor from the Lord.”
