It’s the golden hour… when the sun sets lusciously on the horizon because it likes to taste the ocean. Sea salt and caramel hues… fusing into a blood orange tapestry of passion fruit. The sky is beautiful when I’m with You.
You make the sky dance for me… twirl for me… soar for me… in the Spirit’s ballet of love displayed. Usher in the Bride and Groom… God’s finest treasure.
“As a groom rejoices over his bride, so your God will rejoice over you.”
Isaiah 62:5
He’s rejoicing over you…
The Groom… Golden sparkles adorn the locks above his eyes of fire where white and pure brightness magnify the rainbow. I love when I look at you… blonde and silver glimmers of handsome masculinity. The epitome of virtue and bravery. Like mahogany teakwood and lavender lingering in the forest. I want to get lost in it forever… where you find me there basking in your love.
”You love righteousness and hate wickedness; Therefore God, you God, has anointed you With the oil of gladness more than Your companions. All your garments are scented with myrrh and aloes and cassia, Out of the ivory palaces, by which they have made you glad.”
Psalm 45:7-8
The Bride… Silk and divine dressed in white clothed with beauty marked with timeless Kingdom love from the One who reigns over us. She’s flawless. Just as he is. Immortal… and they enter into the portal of love forever in Heaven’s romance. Her undergarments are lace and floral grace of love like lilies arrayed in Zion’s parade of angels. The garden awaits its master… Beauty and rosemary adorn her.
“But my dove, my perfect one, is unique,
the only daughter of her mother,
the favorite of the one who bore her.
The young women saw her and called her blessed;
the queens and concubines praised her.” Song of Solomon 6:9
God delights in their love.
He made them to love.
He wants them to love… Deeply. Just as He does.
“He brought me to the banqueting house, and His banner over me was love.” Song of Solomon 2:4
Romance is God’s idea… a classic and euphoric invention…
Here to stay.
When God created man in the garden, He destined Him to love… because love sustains and breathes life. It’s from God’s own love for us He created us…
“Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” Genesis 2:7
God also noticed the man’s condition… His lack of a helper and companion for his existence on the earth. God notices the empty places in our hearts and he longs to fill them… He is a God who cares, who sees, who knows and who does whatever is needed for us to be thriving abundantly with the life He died to give us.
God’s solution: a female companion… someone to be one with the man in his body. In his heart. In his whole soul. That was God’s visionary creation. He likes to give us love like this. Anything that robs you of love and makes you feel depleted and never refreshed nor rejuvenated is not from God. What God gives nourishes you. Embrace what God gives and let everything else fall away. His gift is the cherished gift for you in how He made you…
“So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
The man said,
“This is now bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called ‘woman,’
for she was taken out of man.” Genesis 2:21-23
In this passage, the scripture specifies that this gift comes to the man “while he was still sleeping” in verse 21.
Thus, the gift was given to him at first without him having to try to make it happen on his own. She came to Him from the Lord. God made her for him. Gave her to him. Let this encourage the men that when God has a woman in mind for you He knows how to send her to you… but you must first be connected to Jesus Christ intimately before He will send you His beautiful daughter. Kings attract queens. Jesus gives His beauties to His beloved sons.
Once the man awakes, then He meets the woman and from this point on He and her begin a relationship that is mutual in interaction and spirit connection. They both have a role to play and it’s a natural connection, effortless and intimate because God made them for each other.
Verse 22 says, God “made a woman from the rib” of the man. She was made for him with him in mind. With his needs in mind. His personality in mind. They are a perfect fit. You know when God makes someone for you… because you feel an unexplainable connection with them that only the Spirit inside of you and the Spirit inside of them can create. It’s God at work fashioning His Beloved romance…
with you
I’m always with you
in my heart
in my mind
in my soul
entwined
together
and I love how
I feel you everywhere
aligned together
in love better than life
He is our life
and love
is alive in us
Verse 23 says, she is the “flesh of my flesh.” When God gives a woman to a man, you becomes one flesh and your spirit sustains this flesh connection. A break of this flesh union breaks the spirit connection. You need both in the covenant made before the Lord. God designed romance to feel good for the two lovers who share in flesh intimacy in their bodies. And their bodies are set apart for each other and only each other. No one else but those two because God gave them to each other to have.
Romance is His glorious wonder.
Jesus is the God of romance…
The God of love.
The God who loves to bring His sons and daughters together so they can love passionately and live alive from this place of freedom.
You live with so much joy when you’re in love and God knows this. We become more productive in what God calls us to do when we are in love. Love is the foundation undergirding our lives here on the earth and into the next life. It’s why Jesus came for us… to die for us… because He loved us… Love is an unstoppable force.
“And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.” Colossians 3:14
Love always looks good on you.
Real love.
Pure love.
The kind of love that endures anything and everything for its lover… if you want that kind of love ask God for it. He can give it to you… if you find yourself with anything less than that love then it’s not from God.
God says… “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 1 John 4:7-8
Relationships without love deplete the heart… that is not God’s design for you beloved. God’s design was for you to be one with another and of one flesh with your lover. If someone robs you of this one flesh love and union, it breaks the the vow that was cemented between you. Thus rendering that covenant undone. It reveals a lack of love for the lover and without love the relationship cannot be sustained. Love is God’s wish for you… you dont’ have to worry if love will find you or not when you are seeking Jesus. No matter what situaiton you are in, seek God and pour out your heart to HIm… He will hear. And He will act on your behalf to send love to you.
Love finds those who love God with all of their heart.
Proverbs 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desire of your heart.” I think he knew something about love… that it comes when you fall madly in love with the Lord… and so the Lord loves to make you happy and blessed by sending love to you in return… He sees into our hearts. The secrets and hidden desires. The things we won’t even say we want or feel like we can have. God knows those things. He made us remember… He wired us with these capacities to desire and yearn for. Attraction, love, sex, intimacy, connection… it’s all in is his design for the human existence. And when you love Jesus the most… He can give that to you His way and it’s the most ecstatic way… be willing to yield to God giving you that.
Song of Solomon depicts the heart of the God of romance.
A book with steamy imagery and passionate poetry of two lovers…
“How beautiful your sandaled feet,
O prince’s daughter!
Your graceful legs are like jewels,
the work of an artist’s hands.
Your navel is a rounded goblet
that never lacks blended wine.
Your waist is a mound of wheat
encircled by lilies.
Your breasts are like two fawns,
like twin fawns of a gazelle.”
Song of Solomon 7:3
She:
“May the wine go straight to my beloved,
flowing gently over lips and teeth.
I belong to my beloved,
and his desire is for me. Song of Solomon 7:9-10
We see God’s heart for His children in this book, as one who approves of and gives freedom for this love to those whom He loves. It’s canonization in the Bible itself reveals its holy inspiration and its inerrancy as the Word of God. Did you know that God says sex is holy? In His design? It is… the way God designed sex to be between a man and woman is holy… beautiful… a symbol of God’s connection with us as one spirit. It’s also a gift that He gave to His children to experience pleasure within the body as He created the body to experience.
“His eyes are like doves
by the water streams,
washed in milk,
mounted like jewels.
13 His cheeks are like beds of spice
yielding perfume.
His lips are like lilies
dripping with myrrh.
14 His arms are rods of gold
set with topaz.
His body is like polished ivory
decorated with lapis lazuli.”
Song of Solomon 5:12-14
When we yield to God’s design for sex with the one whom He gives us to love from His own authority we honor our bodies but we dishonor our bodies when we engage in sex outside of that with those whom we are not given in love from the Lord.
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” Galatians 5:24
Something happens when you crucify you desires. I did that a long time ago… before I felt the love that I feel right now I felt numb to love and gave that part of my life to the Lord completely. I had no expectation I would love someone again nor have that part of my life awakened. Then God did something… and I didn’t see it coming. I was content and happy with the life God gave me and the purpose before me. But God wanted to give an encounter that was deeper than that. God wanted to put love in my heart… and not just for me. It was for him. It’s always meant for me to be the conduit of love for someone else. Because God sparks it and sustains it. That is how you know it’s from God. Because HE made it happen. He rouses the passion. To match His zeal, not the world’s.
The world’s passion is impure but God’s passion is pure.
God gives His beloved this pure passion to love like He does.
When you crucify you flesh of desire… God awakens it with His pure desire. And it’s directed towards the right purpose and person. It’s not wild and off course. It doesn’t open up for anybody. It only opens for one.
“A lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love.” Proverbs 5:20
You savor your passion for the one you love when it’s been redeemed and generated by a holy God.
Jesus’ love is passion…
The passion of the cross.
His covenant of love for us to woo us and save us into eternal life with Him because of His great love for us.
Covenants are first and foremost cemented in the eyes of the Lord.
He makes a covenant with you and the one whom He gives you to love and you agree to that covenant when you both decide to make that covenant together. Marriage is a legal form of a covenant on earth that makes a way for this Heavenly covenant to be safeguarded, but not every marriage covenant in law is honoring to the Lord. In fact many covenants in law are no longer covenants before the Lord when one of the spouses stops loving the other and fails to love how they promised to love. That breaks a vow. And a broken vow breaks the covenant. God’s design was for no covenant to be broken. But Jesus said, “Because of the hardness of your hearts” divorce was permitted in Matthew 19:8.
When a spouse’s heart hardens towards their lover and neglects their needs and ceases their role, God does not ask you to remain in that kind of bondage.
The apostle Paul said it this way, “But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not enslaved. God has called you to peace.” 1 Corinthians 7:15 When a spouse separates their heart from you and their love for you, that is in substance a form of unbelief. They stopped believing in their covenant vows and thus have stopped believing in the authority of the Lord who rendered those vows. This kind of unbelief slowly erodes away at the heart and separates them from Jesus also. Therefore they stop getting nourishment in their spirit and can’t hear from Him. And they resent everyone who does. It causes sharp tension between them and the other spouse who does have a vibrant relationship with Jesus. Because their hearts on are two different pages spiritually. You cannot coexist with that kind of spirit. They will crush yours.
Light needs light.
Spiritual vitality needs spiritual vitality.
This is why God says “Do not be unequally yoked.” And if you find your spouse does not have a connection with Jesus in their spirit like you thought they did, then it becomes an unequally yoked situation that contaminates your spiritual healthiness. God does not ask anyone to stay in that.
God won’t leave you in that bondage.
God does seek to heal every part of this…
And God only knows how to do that in each and every situation. He may restore or He may break and do something new. It depends on the one who transgressed and if they are willing to change or not. Romans 5:8 says, “But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” God died to set us free… when we come to HIm and want to be freed and healed. But if there is a hardness of heart in a spouse, that is a very difficult thing to change because it comes from the soul and the soul can only change from turning to the Lord. We cannot force anyone to do that. And God sees that… God knows how to take care of His beloved sons and daughters who seek His face night and day and are in relationships that deplete them. Let God love you how He wants to love you… though there may be people who betray and break vows, God never will…
God’s heart of romance is unshaken for you.
““Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor My covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” Isaiah 54:10
God breaks anything that does not please Him.
So that He can enter in and build what His love designs to build for you.
God instituted a design of love for you that will be the highest love and satisfaction for you specifically. Let Him have His way in lavishing it.
“The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon…
The voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire.
The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;
the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth
and strips the forests bare,
and in his temple all cry, “Glory!” Psalm 29:5-9
Break the bondage, Jesus…
Love your people the way they deserve to be loved…
Any breaking that unfurls is because God meant to do that all along… to liberate you into so much more joy and love that you have been craving deep inside and didn’t know you could have… God wants you to have more. He loves to give you more. God knew what was underneath and He planned for the right time to reconstruct. You are held in His love so dearly… He chose you… and He will always be for you.
Hear what He says of you… love is His gift to you.
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”
James 1:17
Love is yours from the Lord… the God of romance. The God of love in a higher expanse. He loves you to love you.
My love will never turn from you. Because it’s a heavenly love… a higher love rooted in our love for Him… pouring from God to me to you…
I always want to be with you…
You are the fire to my flame. The baby breath to my bouquet of roses and I need to smell you and breathe you and tuck you close to my heart until you penetrate the deepest part of me. Soul to soul… alive and free. I love how I love you… and you know that I do… let me love you… how God sent me to love you…
at sunset

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.”
1 John 4:16
