Free and wild, the bluebonnets dust the earth like confetti royal. They grow in unison. Blooming everywhere the sun tastes the richness of its soil fertile for life. I see them… feel them under my feet running through the land You made to adorn the beauty of Your hands. It feels like velvet. Smooth like silk. More and more they are springing up… covering the expanse of a navy meadow, highlighted with indigo. Enhanced with teal and sapphire radiance.
You ensured their freedom… when you risked your life to preserve them.
I had a dream…
I was in a forest with a group of soldiers. Trees were all around. We were getting ready for physical training and there was a large tub like a pool and it was filled with water. Then the water lit on fire. All the sudden the pool started to overflow… the water was trickling down the hill beside us, faster and faster. I looked and saw water flowing down the hill, and I saw young kids playing on down below. I yelled move! as loud as I could to alert them what was coming and keep them from getting swept up in the fire water. But the water was surging down. Then I looked and saw a man. A man I recognized. He didn’t have his Soldier uniform on, just normal clothes. And he was walking up the hill with a child in his arms. He looked at me and I looked at him and nodded, thank you. Smiled at him as he kept walking with the child his arms. He saved that child from death. Then I woke up…
“Greater love has no one than this, that he would lay down his life for his friends.”
John 15:13
This is what it looks like to rescue and save.
That man is a man I know… a Soldier in the Army with many accolades and merits he is well deserving of. But it was his natural instinct of courage and bravery that sent him immediately into the fire water rushing down to save that child. He carries love. And because He carries love, He carries power. He carries bravery.
Carry love and you carry the strengths of God. His courage… His bravery… His fearlessness… His saving instinct… His boldness.
Jesus Christ is the Spirit of valor, and you personify that from knowing Him. Letting His heart and character get into you.
“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being…” Hebrews 1:3
This dream is a prophetic dream manifesting more about His heart and word.
The fire covering the hill in my dream represents the Holy Spirit who comes to baptize his people with fire, the supernatural gifts of His Spirit… represented by fire, as in the book of Acts where the Holy Spirit fell on His people. “Suddenly a sound like that of a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were staying. 3 And tongues, like flames of fire that were divided, appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 Then they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit gave them ability for speech.” Acts 2:2-4
The fire that filled the pool was like a baptism being filled with both water and fire, because both are necessary to empower us as eternal beings. John the Baptist pointed this out himself when he preached about the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ saying that he baptized with water but that Jesus would baptize them with water and with “fire.”
“I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” Matthew 3:11
So the dream I had was not one of destruction brought from fire.
It was a dream of anointing bred through fire. Anointing transmitted through fire. Ordained by fire. Unleashed through fire. The fire of the power of God…
Ezekiel says that the Lord manifests like fire with His glory shining. “To the Israelites the glory of the LORD looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain.” Ezekiel 24:17 His fire is His all-consuming glory. Just think… to be anointed with this kind of fire means that you become cloaked in this same all-consuming fire, powerful and indestructable like God is. His Holy Spirit carries this fire from Himself to you as He indwells your spirit.
Jesus said that He had to ascend to Heaven so that the Holy Spirit could come in John chapter 16. Those were one of Jesus’ last words to His disciples. So Jesus all along intended for us to receive the Holy Spirit and the fullness of its power.
“But I tell you the truth, it is for your benefit that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.” John 16:7
The Holy Spirit is sending His fire of power and anointing in greater measure.
I believe God gave met his dream to say He wants to anoint His children with the Holy Spirit… and set them aflame to light up the world with God’s heart and glory. But at first, many will see the fire and be afraid thinking that it’s harmful… but it’s not. It’s God’s power being imparted.
Don’t fear what God sends to equip you.
Don’t run from what God sends to anoint you.
God’s power is your strength. Let Him baptize you with the holy fire of His supernatural, miraculous power. Then you will be indestructible. Immortal. Unshakeable. Fearless. Powerful.
Jesus says “it is for your benefit” that He ascends so that the Holy Spirit can come in John 16:7. Thus, it is good for us to receive the Holy Spirit! Even better than the temporal presence of Jesus, according to Jesus Himself. The Spirit is powerful because it transcends space and time, and it connects you to God regardless of locale. The Spirit empowers you and indwells you to be like Jesus, and walk like Him, minister for Him, know Him, be connected to Him, and enjoy His presence forever always with you.
Have you ever felt connected to someone so deeply even when they are absent because your spirit is so intertwined with them that you feel them everywhere… that is the result of the Holy Spirit at work in you and in them. It creates a bond. It generates intimacy. It channels a spiritual connection of knowing someone deeper than is visibly possible, beacuse the spirit occupies the inside of a person. Thus, the Spirit of God inside of you connects you to the inside of God Himself. That’s powerful! We need and want the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said that it’s for our benefit that the Holy Spirit would come to us… so as long as Jesus is not present with us, that means that the Holy Spirit IS present with us. HE has not left and He has not stopped working miraculous wonders and speaking prophetically, spiritually, revealing the mysteries and revelations of God. Igniting miracles that display Jesus’ power in greater ways.
There is a spirit of anti-Christ influence in the world that tries to undermine this Spirit of God that Jesus sent us. It tries to say that the Holy Spirit is handcuffed and muzzled, unable to do what it used to do. But that is directly against everything the Bible says. The Bible says God does not change (Hebrews 13:8, Psalm 102:27, Psalm 55:19). He cannot have a Spirit that changes either. He is either all powerful or not powerful at all. He cannot come to the world and be 2 different versions of Himself. He is only 1 Spirit, the same Spirit. He is not a man and He is not fallen. The Holy Spirit is holy. That means He is perfect is His ways. Pure in His ways. His pure ability to heal, raise from the dead, speak prophecies, give dreams, give visions, and do wonders as a supernatural God is always the same God and never loses stamina because He is perfect and pure. Unbelief in the Holy Spirit is heresy, just as Stephen declared as he was in the middle of being stoned by the ones who rejected Jesus as Messiah. There is a correlation between not believing in Jesus and also not believing in the Holy Spirit.
Stephen says this to the religious leaders, years after Jesus arose and sent the Holy Spirit as He said…
“You stiff-necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit! Was there ever a prophet your ancestors did not persecute? They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him— you who have received the law that was given through angels but have not obeyed it.” Acts 7:51-53
God gave them a prophetic word, but they rejected it.
Be careful that you don’t reject the word of the Lord coming through the prophetic. It blinds you to who God is, and you can’t see Him.
“However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.” Romans 8:9
This passage makes it clear that if you trust in Jesus as your Lord, you have the Holy Spirit. Take hold of the treasure you have!
If you want to see God, you can through His Holy Spirit.
I’ve had encounters where I saw the Lord… and it’s because His Holy Spirit made that encounter happen.
Nothing can be revealed of God without the Holy Spirit. Dreams, visions, prophetic words… all reveal as a result of you saying Yes Lord I want you and all you are, and that includes His Holy Spirit. It’s more about how you react the first time God gives you a revelation of Him through the Holy Spirit… do you want to experience the spiritual things He reveals? Or do you not? How you react at that occurence reveals if your heart is receptive to Him. Tell God you want to experience Him and that you want your heart to experience Him and you will. Simple as that.
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” 2 Corinthians 3:17
Amplified freedom comes from living in the power of the Spirit.
free as bird
I fly into the redwoods
towering high
above me
because I can
and I want to see
how the butteflies land
at this altitude
and I’ll find the grand
beauties of life
on the horizon
dazzling
with gratitude
The Holy Spirit is a power that does inner work in you.
We flow from what God does in us, because we are beings that operate according to our brain, heart, soul and spirit. All of these aspects of who a person is are defined as inner qualities. So we cannot do anything in action unless we first have the capacity and wherewithall to even provoke us to do that in action. This capacity comes from how we operate internally. Thus, the Holy Spirit indwells a person with the power to act in power. These qualities are the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control (Galatians 5:22-24). These qualities also come from God’s own essense and virtues: bravery, courage, generosity, rescue, advocating, fearlessness, gifts of personality and attributes, and every single quality that would reflect the image of God and manifest itself in a human being made by Him (Genesis 1:27, 5:1; Eph 4:24; 1 John 3:2).
“Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16
Your outer power channels from your inner power formed by the Holy Spirit within you.
“I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.” Ezekiel 37:27
Courage is formed in the silent scenes where no one sees but God. In the seasons of trust, action, and saying yes to God when it risks your life and no one understands it. But it makes you bold as a lion. Generating ferocious tenacity from the Holy Spirit’s fire within you brazen and audacious.
Faith is formed in the unseen. In the seasons of waiting and intercession where no one would believe God can still show up but you do, and you keep praying.
Bravery intensifies in the hidden battles, where overcome devils for people who may never know you saved them and fight for souls regardless of the danger it puts you in. It grows in the seasons of obstacles that no one knows of but you and God, and it makes you fearless in a way that can only come from God. Because His Spirit is in you channeling your inner strength.
The Holy Spirit is your inner strength! Your inner training. There at the top of the hill in the forest getting ready to run sprints and carry weights. It’s the Holy Spirit working out in you, when life stretches you.
“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” Romans 8:11
You are immortal because of the Holy Spirit indwelling you!
Let God baptize you with fire. Let him put you through the trials that fashion you into a warrior.
I think about the dream I had…
The man in my dream was not given an order to go and save. He went on his own instinct. An instinct to save that can only arise from the instincts of a loving God who also came to save. A rescuer instinct mirrors the heart of God. And you cannot be a rescuer without it. But when you know the Lord this way, He makes you that. He makes you a rescuer. A deliverer. A warrior. A hero.
You are a hero… did you know that?
Because you kept saving every heart in front of you when they needed you to. You never turned your eye away from their pain and their suffering. You acted. You fought. You rescued. So God elevated you to where you are because He knew you could handle the weight of it. He gave you indestructable resources because he wanted you to always remember you are indestructable. Nothing will overcome you. Stay rooted in His heart for you. He believes in you to be His warrior.
Jesus is like the man on the hill.
He is our rescuer.
He was the first one. The first one to save and rescue… The first one to die for another… on the cross on the hill of Calvary.
So we know how to love like this. He is our example. The valiant Soldier. The selfless warrior who puts his life on the line to try to save us… and does. This is the essence of the gospel… that the King of the whole universe saw our endangered condition and came to rescue us out of it, so that we can become eternal. No more in danger. No more at risk. No more defenseless to the powers of darkness. Now we are immortal forever, made to be like Jesus on the day we enter into Heaven with Him forever in a perfect love relationship that satisfies our hearts with everything we were made to crave and feel.
“But God demonstrates His own love for us, that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
The greatest demonstrations of love are the most costly demonstrations of love.
What are you willing to give for love?
The man in my dream gave up his safety. Gave up his fears. Gave up his comfort. To rush into the fire water and save the child.
Christ saw our helplessness… our dirtiness… our inability to get out of the conundrum and He said I want her… I want him… and He came after us. A love that defines every notion of what love could be. It’s a radical, unimaginable, incomprehensible love… and He loves you that much.
“While we were still sinners…”
He loves you in the middle of whatever you’re in. It’s interesting that God created us as humans with the potential to be so beautiful and so powerful and so gifted… and yet we can be so weak and susceptible to sin also. King David knew this dichotomy and so does every single person who seeks to live with God, but ever aware of the weaknesses within us and the parts of us that don’t do the right thing. We have to be gracious to who we are, as both. I am a powerful warrior for the Lord but I’m also a vulnerable human with flesh and bone. But Jesus designed this dichotomy. He meant for us to exist in this condition for a season of time. It’s called life on earth. And this is a progression of being exposed to good and evil, with free will to choose life with Jesus that everyone must go through. And that God still uses to show His glorious power through us. It’s a beautiful artistry, really… a kindness of perplexing captivation… that God who reigns over the whole universe would use us in our both good and bad holistic substance.
We are only humans. Out greatest power still resides within a human vesserl.
“Now we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this surpassingly great power is from God and not from us.” 2 Corinthians 4:7
It’s God’s power in you.
God’s tenacity in you.
God’s courage in you.
God’s bravery in you.
God’s love in you.
God’s heart in you!
So let God fill you up… with His fire of the Holy Spirit. Let God anoint you… with the power of the Holy Spirit!
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.” Psalm 23:5
God’s anointing overflows in you just like the water fire overflowing in my dream. It touches all it flows to… touching them with the same fire to be anointed for God. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from, God wants to anoint you to be His warrior and showcase His glorious power. You can be God’s warrior if you want to be…
We need the fire of God in order to be the hero.
You are the hero who rescues because God’s power anointed you. And in your humanity, that anointing will not be removed.
God’s anointing is irrevocable.
God can use the one who is off the clock to rush in and rescue. Because it’s who one is that makes you a rescuer. Whether you’re in uniform or not.
God wants to use you… to fight for His people. Will you?
The flames of the water set ablaze in my dream is a fire that doesn’t destroy the terrain, it only boosts everyone with power. So this a fire that must be honored by us because it’s fire that comes down from the holy of holies. From God’s own throne room.
Honor the flame.
The flame of His love.
The flame of His beauty.
The flame of His power.
The flame of His Heavens.
The flame of supernatural immortality touching you to change the world around you.
Honor the flames of God’s love for you.
“Love’s flames are fiery flames— an almighty flame!” Song of Solomon 8:6
there’s a flame
burning in His heart
yearning from His heart
churning for His heart
to be widespread
manifest
to every breath
He set ablaze
to know Him
my love
you are the flame of God’s devotion
God loves His flames.
His Beloveds.
In my dream, these children… they are the flames of God’s heart. His obsession. His passion. His affection. God loves His children. And He will not settle for them living underneath the power capability they were made to activate. He’s going to baptize them with His fire. And He is going to set them on fire to change the world around them.
Get ready… the Holy Sprit is coming to revitalize your life with everything you prayed for… and He uses His children to do it.
“Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, because of Your enemies, that You may silence the enemy and the avenger.” Psalm 8:2
God picks children to be His superheroes just as much as He picks those with a history of experience. Because it makes God look even more powerful, that He can use anything and make it an unstoppable.
God touches the world through children.
God speaks prophetically through His children.
God uses children to fight for His name and reknown.
God will act through His children to bring love to those He wants to reach.
“Moreover, we possess the prophetic word as an altogether reliable thing. You do well if you pay attention to this as you would to a light shining in a murky place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.” 2 Peter 1:19
Historically, God has spoken through young children. Solomon. Samuel. Mary. Jesus. The little boy with 3 loaves and 2 fish. The disciples. All of them were from 10 – 16 years old. Never underestimate the power of young people to change the terrain of the world they inhabit.
Honor the children.
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example to the church in faith, in speech, in conduct and in love.” 2 Timothy 3:16
Children are the future.
And children are the present.
Children are the miracle.
And they are the gift.
Elders… receive the children and you’ll get the blessings God is giving to you through them.
In my dream, the man I saw carrying the child from the hill also represents the support needed for the younger children to act in this empowerment from the Lord.
There is a complementary partnership authored by God where the younger and the older coexist together for the furthering of God’s purpose.
The younger generation is being given power from God and the older generation must allow that empowerment to go forth without restraining, but rather liberating them and giving them every opportunity to flourish and act freely in that power. Many are already doing that and it’s needed. This dream showed me what a mutual partnership looks like between the younger and older generation acting in their power and support of one another. Where the older generation carries the younger generation into their anointing, and the younger generation goes forth carrying the mantle of the older generation to further their works and achievements. Like Elijah and Elisha.
Love leaves a legacy for the next to carry on…
Jesus came so that we would carry His name to the ends of the earth after He was gone.
When you love someone, you want their legacy to live on. And we need every generation involved in that for the preservation of it.
We need both. The older and younger. The teamwork of all generations warring together for the glory of the Lord. For we are all seen as one people and one set of children to the Lord… we are all his kids… men… women… me… you… we are all God’s children, and God says… let them come to me.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
God lets us come to Him anytime we want to.
Jesus liked it when the children came to Him. And He likes it when you come to Him too.
The Kingdom of Heaven belongs to the children… and so you are. Did you know that? You are the childlike one who looks to the Heavens awaiting the presence of God to unveil in your heart. Receive the Lord like a little child… the Bible says.
We are all God’s children.
You are God’s child… dearly loved.
That means you possess all the benefits of being His child.
You possess His protection, inheritance, love, covering, anointing, power, peace, resources and so much more. He is unleashing His fire of the Spirit in your heart to possess His power even greater than before to be His witness in the earth about who He is and to love the world with His own heart.
Like in my dream, someone is coming up the hill…
Someone is coming up the hill with you in their arms… and it’s God. He will carry you when the weight of all you carry becomes too much. You will always have Your Father in Heaven to walk beside you wherever you go.
God wants to carry you…
Who’s coming up the hill when you’re looking out the window of your forest on fire… your dreams are on fire… your hopes are on fire… your heart is on fire… from what burned down when you were planning to build… Jesus is. Jesus is coming up the hill with you in his arms.
fan me into flame
and I’ll shower your Name
to every heart
every soul
every eye
beneath the sky
of love’s power
Your Holy Spirit power
Who’s coming up the hill when you’re standing at the edge of the horizon of your love on fire… your soul on fire… your heart on fire… from what is burning with passion and ardor from what you prayed for and God delivered… its’ here… the miracle standing right in from you… Jesus is. Jesus is coming up the hill with your destiny in his arms.
He was fighting for you all along.
So fight for them.
God carried you.
So carry them…
Carry the one you love.
I saw you. Coming up the hill with innocence in your arms. Love in your arms. The fire didn’t scare you nor keep you away from saving them. Your instinct pulled you in. You don’t need them to affirm you, nor tell you who you are. They see it… I see it… God sees it… and your heart illuminates brighter than any star could do. Because you are the star shining through. You are the star they needed… and you make the sky shine for them another day because you saved them to see it in the night sky waiting for rescue. Free and wild like the bluebonnets multiplying in the meadows of God’s garden. You preserved them. You unleashed them. You rescued them. Thank you for rescuing them… empowering them to rise with the flame of love. We are God’s flames of love.
“There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in flames of fire…”
Exodus 3:2
