Love’s Open Door

The door swung open when You told it to open for me. There You were. Waiting for me to find You once again. Asking me to seek You when You beckoned my soul within. You let me come to You… move towards You… run to You… embracing me in Your arms of strength, anticipating my love for You. You knew all along I would find You.

“For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:8‬ ‭

In Matthew chapter 7, Jesus teaches the disciples about persistent pursuit of The King, persistent pursuit of prayer, persistent pursuit of belief in the same King who longs to be loved and trusted. He wants to love you and provide for you. You can come to Him and ask Him anything you want to. He gives you the freedom to be with Him anytime. It’s your right. To be connected to Him at all times.

Jesus wants you to be with Him where He is. Did you know that? He craves your soul, your heart, your love, your joy… It was His prayer to the Father in John chapter 17 that we would ge to be with Him where He is in Heaven and see His glory.

Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” John 17:24

I love that Jesus is a God who longs to be loved.

He’s not an emotionless God nor a cold God. His heart flows with blood and his soul lights up from a touch of love from the ones whom He made to be in relationship with. It’s why Jesus came to earth. To be with us. He loves it when you come to Him first. When you choose Him. And yes, Lord, I want you to be my God.

Jesus opens the doors of Heaven.

He loves to leave the door open for you because He wants you to walk through it without hesitation. Without reservation. Without limitations of any boundary lines encroaching on your intimacy. He welcomes you every time with lover’s fire.

“He gave a command to the clouds above and opened the doors of Heaven.”
‭‭Psalm 78:23‬

My door is open, My Love… come to Me.

God beckons His Beloved to seek Him.

He wants you to seek Him He wants you to show Him you love Him. Can you show Him you love Him? More and more? Deeper and deeper? Forever? Don’t miss a moment to tell God who He is to you. He wants to hear it and He wants to know it from your heart to Him. Your love is vital to Him.

“I love those who love Me, and those who seek Me find me.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭8:17‬

I like it when you come to Me, He says.
Keep coming into My presence. Keep speaking into My essence. Keep bringing Me into My own Heavenly secret garden where I made the marigolds scintillate like the lights of Paris. I want to show you eternity.

God will reveal Heaven and earth to the one who pursues Him in love, just as much as He pursues you in love. God wants to be loved too. He says come closer… let Me show you more.

“After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭4:1‬ ‭

God unveils the world to you through His eyes when you come into His presence.

The presence of the Lord is a spiritual awakening space.

It’s the foundation and springboard of discernment, wisdom, intuition, love, and fruits of the spirit. We need to be in the presence of the Lord in order to grow strong in who we are and to develop our spiritual lives. Thus, we must be intentional to seek God. This requires intentionality in your pursuit of the Almighty. Your desire for the divine. Falling in love with Jesus guarantees you will experience more of Jesus. Your lover rubs off on you. Let God rub off on you and get into your skin. It benefits you whollistically.

Enter the presence of the King and see His beauty illuminating all around.

“Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty; the Lord, invincible in battle.”
Psalm 24:7-8

The King craves you to be with Him.

Wherever you are, God will fight to bring you close to Him. He is the God strong and mighty in battle. He is the God who wins you to be His own.

Today, my dog Emmie got stuck on the other side of a barbed wire fence where I live. I ran to him and tried to pull him over but the barbed wire was too high. I ran with him down the side of the fence to find an opening but to no avail. But finally I could see a place in the fence at the edge where there was metal fencing and no barbed wire so I climbed up, reached down and pulled Emmie over from the other side. He went running around and all was well again. He may be a dog but I love my little golden so much and I wasn’t about to let him stay stuck on the other side of that fence. God said… I’ll do anything it takes to bring you back to Me. If I have to jump the fence, I’ll do it. If I have to cross the earth or ocean I’ll do it. I dont know how you got there, but I’m going to get you back to me.

Whoever needs some encouragement that God loves you… remember God does whatever it takes to find you. And to send you His love. No matter where you are. Nothing separates us from God’s love.

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

Paul knew of this radical love of Jesus because He encountered so many difficult dilemmas. But he always felt the love of God close to Him in the midst of it. He knew from experience that God’s love was stronger than anything else He could receive.

God’s love is your nourishment.

God’s love is your healing.

God’s love is your provision.

God’s love is your lifeline.

Believe in this love…

“Now without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who approaches God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6

Paul says here in Hebrews that God “rewards those who seek Him.” God likes it when you seek Him! When you make the move! When you pursue Him! It flatters His heart. It makes Him feel loved. So He will bless you in return. Feeling His love coming back to you is the greatest reward of all. To be loved by the King… is the greatest treasure. Love Him with all of your heart and find the love you desire.

Going back to what Jesus said in Matthew 7, persistent faith is a core component of your relationship with God. Seeking requires persistence. It’s a continual action, not a one time act. You seek God over and over again, everyday, every second. He says that this “seeking” is an aspect of our faith. When you seek God, you demonstrate your own faith in Him as God. To seek someone shows that you believe they are needed in your life. You want them in your life. You value them in your life. Seeking God tells God you see Him as valuable and worthy of that pursuit. Thus, He opens the door for you… so that you can keep seeking Him as much as you want to.

Love is an open door. Always inviting you in. Always drawing you closer to dwell. There is freedom in this open door. Love. Respect. As the two lovers come and go, there is trust between them because they know the other is bound to the other in spirit. There is laughter and joy. A bliss of harmony because Jesus is the one revolving the door that opens up to Heaven where His kisses fall from the celestial powers of divinity. Love is passionate. Love is nourishing.

His door is open for you.

Thank You, Jesus, for your loving desire to be known by us and pursused by us. We want to chase after Your heart and be known in the exchange of our hearts colliding with yours. Fill us with Your presence all the time. Beckon us to know You in the lovelight of Heaven.

You wooed my heart

to find you

and I did find you

with the door open

waiting for me

You moved my heart

to love you

and I do love you

with the door closed

loving me

because it’s only me and You

the door

it opens for me and You

wherever the stars

shine in clearest view

and the moon takes a bow

in velvet hues

of midnight wonder

He opens the door for His lover

Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in You.

Psalm 143:8
