The God who rules the universe… exists in autonomy… He reigns all sufficient as Father, Son & Holy Spirit… yet He longs for us… died in brutality and rose in majesty… to make us His… it’s love… a captivating love.
Jesus, come back and sweep us into Your arms forever.
He longs for the day we’re with Him forever. In John chapter 17 Jesus speaks of this desire to be with us.
Jesus says, “Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given Me, may be with Me where I am, to see My glory that You have given Me because You loved Me before the foundation of the world.”
Jesus wants us to see Him in Heaven and be with Him. Because He created us for this very purpose. We are children of God. Created as a holy priesthood as 1 Peter says. Our identity is incredibly precious and significant. We were created to dwell… literally dwell… in the same abode as the Most High God… King Jesus… and He wants us to.
Did you know Jesus gets excited to see you?
He does. ❤️
Jesus desires us… to be with Him… to see Him… to dwell with Him.
He’s anticipating the day we enter the place He’s been designing for us… He can’t wait to see us. And He longs to be close to us here and now… Jesus, You melt me…
Jesus longs to be known by us.
For who He really is.
Notice it says “those whom You have given Me” in verse 24.
We are given to God if we are His.
God gives us to Himself in holy covenant when we want Jesus to be Lord of all. It’s our decision… to decide if we want Jesus or not. He will not force anyone to be His. And if we want Him… He seals our hearts to His. And it’s a forever covenant… God won’t stop loving you.
It’s why He made us… we bring Him joy.
I like that I was made for Him…
As Job 33:4 says, “The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.”
His love only grows deeper and deeper the more I live.
God wants to give you encounters of this love from Him.
From the spirit of God oozing out…
Yesterday in my classroom one of my little students came up to hug me and she wouldn’t let go… you need to sit I said, but she kept hugging me… over and over… she said I love you… I love you… I felt the Holy Spirit so strongly.
I feel the Lord wants to impart His love to His people… ♥️
Jesus loves to love you… over and over.
Jesus said, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again & will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also.”
Jesus is coming back for us and He’s designing a place for us right now… to bring us into… just as He created the earth for us to dwell. It’s what He does. Who He is.
Jesus is a designer.
The most radiant of all designers.
He constructs the most intricate designs and creates the most creative and breathtaking of wonders.
The earth speaks of the glory of the Lord just in the nature He created. Romans 1:20-21 talks about this and how “no one has excuse” for denying God because “His attributes are clearly expressed through what He has made.”
Jesus is an artist.
Jesus is a builder.
Jesus is a painter.
Jesus is a Creator.
Jesus designs everything with lavish arrays of wonder.
Psalm 139 echoes the artistry of a God who created the most complex of all organisms… the human being. And the beauty we carry as made in the image of God.
“For You formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are Your works;
my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.” Psalm 139:13-15
In the beginning of the Bible, we learn this truth of God’s multifaceted identity that He is a Creator… and we are one of His most brilliant creations.
I can’t wait to see what Heaven looks like… what Jesus has been designing for us this whole time.
Heaven will be lavish and captivating. Because it’s made by God… and He doesn’t make cheap, unattractive wonders.
Everything He makes is stunning.
“And He carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, 11 having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal…
He also measured its wall, 144 cubits by human measurement, which is also an angel’s measurement. 18 The wall was built of jasper, while the city was pure gold, like clear glass. 19 The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of jewel. The first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.
21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.” Revelation 21:10-11,17-21
But even more beautiful will be the face of Jesus…
…there before us 24/7 all the time. He is the treasure. And the most Beautiful thing we could ever glimpse.
“And His face was like the sun shining in full strength.” Revelation 1:16
Jesus is beautiful. The most breathtaking of all.
And to think that we are made in HIS image… that means that you are beautiful in every way… just how God made you… and you will made into His likeness with a glorified body in Heaven when we enter His dwelling place forever. We were designed to live as His people… like Him.
“Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when He appears we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.” 1 John 3:2
Jesus is a lover… a redeemer… a warrior… our everything. His love is perfect. And we will see Him open the skies to descend upon the earth when He comes to gather His bride to Himself.
He’s coming back…
To usher us into His design in the Heavens with Him forever.
glistening flashes of light
all of Heaven opens
awaiting a people He crafted
in His design
a holy city
enlaid with rubies
and pearls and gems alight
from Your glory
the most dazzling thing
I’ve ever seen
You’re beautiful, Jesus
I want to dwell with You
Jesus, our hearts are fixed upon You… awaiting Your return.
“They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.” Revelation 22:4-5
