Live forever. Dance forever. Sing forever. Smile forever in the Heavens God made for you. God’s Kingdom was built for you. God’s children are His joy and you will be blessed by their presence in your life. God beautifies the purity of the world through children. We need them to revive the world with wonder and joy again. Jesus welcomes children because they are the heirs of the Kingdom of God.
“But Jesus invited them: “Let the little children come to Me, and don’t stop them, because the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I assure you: Whoever does not welcome the Kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” Luke 18:16-17
Heaven is the Kingdom of God. Heaven belongs to children. Your world becomes like Heaven when you welcome them into your life.
What does it mean to welcome the Kingdom of God like a little child? It describes the heart of one awestruck by the Lord and everything He is. It showcases the purity of a heart enthusiastic about our God and everything He says. It reveals the simplicity of relationship with God and what He desires from us. He wants joy and wonder.
Become a child again. Sing again. Laugh again. Smile again. Praise the Lord again with a childlike spirit of innocence and purity. Jesus says the Kingdom belongs to these. Children inherit the Kingdom of God.
God blesses His people with children. You were called to steward God’s next generation.
“All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.” Isaiah 54:13
Children are advanced in understanding God’s truth. They possess the ability and capacity to learn about who He is and delighting in His ways because The Lord is the one who teaches them.
When you birth the children God gives you, He will teach them about who He is and this knowledge give them peace. Let God be the center of your family and your child’s life.
“See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in Heaven always see the face of My Father in heaven.” Matthew 18:10
Children are a blessing, not an inconvenience. They teach you how to see purely, love whole-heartedly, dance with freedom, and live with joy. You never stop learning from them. To the one who loves God, children reveal the beauty of God’s glory in never-ending measure.
“Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from Him.” Psalm 127:3
Children are a reward from God. Your life amplifies in purpose and meaning from their presence in your life.
Neglecting to love children or causing them to sin brings harm on you from God. He does not turn a blind eye to their oppression.
Matthew 18, Jesus speaks to the disciples when they ask them who the greatest is in Heaven. Jesus says it’s you. The children. He wants us to become like little children with childlike faith and childlike hearts.
“At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?” And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.” Matthew 18:1-4
Children are the greatest.
“But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Matthew 18:6
God protects children at all costs.
God trusts you to love children, not hurt them. Using your power or authority to harm a child is detestable to the Lord and it will not be overlooked.
Children trust adults to take care of them, and they do not have power or access to protect themselves. Adults who abuse children would be better off as Jesus said “for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” God detests child abuse. Putting your hands on a child is abuse. Period. No question about it.
God created children to exist eternal and pure where they adorn the Heavens with beauty. Harming or tempting one of God’s precious, eternal children provokes His fury. He will not allow you to touch them. Instead, He will use their melodies of song and childlike faith to defeat every enemy.
“Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.” Psalm 8:2
Children praise the Lord because they know who He is and they esteem His worth.
“But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things Jesus did and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant. “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked Him. “Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read, “ ‘From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise’?” Matthew 21:15-16
Jesus loves when children sing to Him because children possess a pure heart of seeing God rightly. Children were ordained to minister to God. Children were chosen to bless His name. Children were consecrated to worship the King of Heaven and bring peace to every heart.
“The Father has loved us so much that we are called children of God. And we really are His children. The reason the people in the world do not know us is that they have not known Him.” 1 John 3:1
God’s love compels Him to lavish us with the blessed name of “children of God.” You are a child of God! You are His chosen and you are His beloved. Don’t worry about if someone knows who you are or not. Only those who esteem God as God will be able to understand who you are and honor you as a child of God.
1 John 3 goes on to say, “Dear friends, now we are children of God, and we have not yet been shown what we will be in the future. But we know that when Christ comes again, we will be like Him, because we will see Him as He really is.” 1 John 3:2
Now, “we are children of God” 1 John says. This identity is already given to you in Jesus. Embrace this God-given identity and revel in the joy of it.
Now, we are children of God!
Now, we are children of God!
What is yet to come is even more glorious as we await Jesus to return for us at His second coming. Because we are children of God, we keep ourselves pure because it is a part of our nature and identity to be pure as 1 John continues.
“Christ is pure, and all who have this hope in Christ keep themselves pure like Christ.” 1 John 3:3
It starts with Jesus. It always begins with Him and anchors in Him. Our hope is in Jesus and thus, we live pure like Him, as children of God.
Children renew purity to the earth. Children renew purity to the home. Children renew purity to human hearts. Children renew purity to broken places. Jesus says, let the little children come to Me… for their inheritance of eternal life shines on them in Heaven forevermore.
