Drain The Sea

Light flashes. Thunder roars. Clouds roll. Sounds barrel from the holy One running for His Bride when the sky opens. Behold the glory… it’s a once in a lifetime occurence. The only occurence of the second return of Christ. He is coming and when He does, He will bring peace to the world. God’s arms are open with lovingkindness to the ones who want Him.

God says… death evacuates at the sound of My voice.

Jesus comes to demolish death. To drain the space that wreaked of it. To remove the places scarred with it. To eradicate the maze of mysteries locked in hidden places. Where there was death, God does away with it. Every spot marked with death, God eradicates. A New Heaven and Earth awakens to teem with life and immortality forever.

“Then I saw a new Heaven and a new Earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea no longer existed.” Revelation 21:1

John saw it. The empty sea. The barren sea. The drained sea. The void of water where there used to be oceans. All souls are beckoned higher. Every eye is drawn upward. Every knee will bow at His Name: Jesus Christ. The end of days is coming.

Why would God eradicate the sea?

Revelation 21:1 makes it clear there will not be any ocean in the New Heaven and New Earth. God does not see it neccessary for the new perfect world. When God creates everything new and abundant with vitality, He does so with our highest joy in mind.

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
Death will no longer exist;
grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer,
because the previous things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4

Death will no longer exist, verse 4 says. The sea will no longer exist, verse 1 says. There is a correlation between the two. The sea passes away because it is associated with the “previous things” which must be done away with. John saw in his vision of Heaven there was no sea, and no presence of pain and evil. Only the abundance of everything worth singing about with joy exists in Heaven. So God must know what He is doing.

“But the children of Israel had walked on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.” Exodus 14:29

God wants you to walk on dry land. Death is buried in the sea. God does not want the sea to linger any longer in His pure and perfect world.

Exodus 14:28 indicates where death laid once the Israelites were set free from bondage: “Then the waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them. Not so much as one of them remained.”

Nobody stands against you. God redeems you from every Pharoah and every chariot coming after you. God uses the very waters they esteemed to swallow them up in death.

Furthermore, Israel escapes death from Egypt by walking on dry land, not by travelling on the sea by boat nor ship. God does not rescue you to keep you on the sea. He wants you firmly planted on dry land. Heaven is a place anchored on a firm foundation, not of water but of the physical presence of God, our precious foundation of eternal life through Jesus Christ, the cornerstone.

“For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthiasn 3:11

Don’t try to build any other foundation for your life besides Jesus.

What kind of water will be in Heaven?

Holy water.

Living water flows from the River of Life to impart healing and wholeness to God’s people.

“Then the One seated on the throne said, “Look! I am making everything new.” He also said, “Write, because these words are faithful and true.”And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give water as a gift to the thirsty from the River of life.” Romans 21:5-6

God’s wants to give you the best water in existence… River Water. From The River of Life.

“Then one of the seven angels, who had held the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues, came and spoke with me: “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” He then carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God.” Revelation 21:9-10

I love how God speaks to John in this chilling and gripping vision of the end times. God’s voice is gentle and kind, even in the midst of His power and authority.

God’s voice is soothing with truth and mercy to the One who crowns Him King. His heart is forever devoted to the ones He chose to belong to Him forever.

“And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord, “For He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever toward Israel.” And all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.” Ezra 3:11

In Ezra 3, Israel returns to Jerusalem and rebuilds the temple. God is making a new temple for us to dwell in with Him and it will not be made by human hands, but by God’s hands. God’s House in the New Heaven and Earth will be the most beautiful of all because His architecture outshines every other.

“Then one of the seven angels, who had held the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues, came and spoke with me: “Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb. He then carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God, arrayed with God’s glory. Her radiance was like a very precious stone, like a jasper stone, bright as crystal. The city had a massive high wall, with 12 gates. Twelve angels were at the gates; the names of the 12 tribes of Israel’s sons were inscribed on the gates. There were three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west. The city wall had 12 foundations, and the 12 names of the Lamb’s 12 apostles were on the foundations.” Revelation 21:9-14

The holy city of the Lord outshines every city. The holy city of the Lord declares the reign of the King.

“The foundations of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone…

the first foundation jasper,
the second sapphire,
the third chalcedony,
the fourth emerald,
the fifth sardonyx,
the sixth carnelian,
the seventh chrysolite,
the eighth beryl,
the ninth topaz,
the tenth chrysoprase,
the eleventh jacinth,
the twelfth amethyst.

The 12 gates are 12 pearls; each individual gate was made of a single pearl. The broad street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.” Revelation 21:21

Heaven is a place protected and enshrined for you because of Jesus’ love. No dark spirits can enter and no kind of evil can break into its walls. These walls will never break because they are the holy walls meant to beautify and keep the ones inside for God’s own possession forever, and they want to be there. You can choose if you want to be there or not… Choose to belong to Jesus.
