New Heaven. Jesus awaits New Heaven with you where the waterfalls flow outside of time and gravity. It’s a fluorescent flowing. A technicolor light of indigo and sunflower and dragon fruits hues in a rainbow that Heaven’s atmosphere scintillates.

Jesus’ love feels like Heaven. Tastes like Heaven. Looks like Heaven. Our eyes will behold beauty in a higher resolution than ever before. Our senses will experience God in a more interconnected relationship than ever before. Every moment we wait for the Lord by His Spirit takes us closer to the moment promised in Revelation. The moment where John saw what was to come.
“Then I saw a New Heaven and a new earth, for the first Heaven and the first earth had passed away.” Revelation 21:1
All of time will shift as the new era of eternity sets in. New Heaven. New Earth. Here in the book of Revelation, John sees the grand finale. The denouement of love. The cataclysmic moment of Heaven touching down as Jesus returns for His Bride.
He’s coming for her. To rescue her. To love her. To marry her. To unite with her forever, as the Bridegroom of His people.
Our warrior Jesus is coming for us. This is a definite promise. A prophetic reality.
The first earth had passed away according to John’s revelation, for the New Heaven and New Earth to begin.
In order for the new to come, the old must pass away. The old way of doing things. The old pattern of thinking about life. The old hopes of what was to come. It will all combust in the confetti of Jesus’ arrival. The celebratory grandeur of His second coming. At this moment in history, a new history begins. A new Heaven and a New earth.
A new dwelling place for God and man necessitates a lavish inauguration. John describes it as a Bride shining in the sky.
“And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God prepared as a bride as a bride adorned for her husband.” Revelation 21:2
The New Jerusalem appears radiant like a bride adorned in silk with jewels of diamonds, rubies, gold, and and pearls. The moment shines ecstasy. The feeling ignites delight. Like seeing a bride at the doorway walking to her groom, Jesus gets excited to see His Bride at His second coming.
Jesus is the Bridegroom and we are the Bride. That means you, Beloved. You are His delight. You are His prize. You are His treasure. You are the One He wants to spend eternity with.
God says His Bride is perfect. Flawless. Spotless. Pure and holy. Just like Him. Every lover of Jesus’ soul absorbs the love of His nature.
“For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is His name; and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth He is called.” Isaiah 54:5
God marries His bride. He is her husband. He is her light. He is her lover.
“For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your sons marry you, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.” Isaiah 62:5
Elegance and royalty illuminate from the light of God on His bride.
Isaiah 60:1 says, ““Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”
The King delights in her beauty. Her scintillation. Her glow. Her beauty remains unmatched, all for Him. God cannot wait to God’s people radiate the affection of God’s own heart as they glow awaiting Him in forever-love.
The New Jerusalem is the center of our new home in Heaven with Him. What God creates outshines every other construction and every other architecture. John personifies the city like a glowing bride because this describes God’s delight in His holy city. God delights in every element of Heaven. The holy city. The lavish architecture. The angels and seraphim. The Tree of Life. The River of Life. All of it illuminates joy from the heart of God. Why? Because He made it for us.
Thus, His love feels like Heaven. His heart feels like Heaven. His soul tastes like Heaven. His Spirit sings like heavenly angels of lullabies and symphonies caroling forever and ever. Love will have never felt this good as it will in the New Heaven and New Earth, where man and woman dwell with God. God is the only perfect lover. Thus, New Heaven teems with perfect love.
John speaks about love in his letter 1 John, saying…
“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.” 1 John 4:18
Fearless love marks the heart of God. Fearless love arrays the light of God on His beloved. His love makes us powerful. Brave. Courageous. Tenacious. Audacious. Because you know with full confidence that the One with the highest power adores you. There is no one outside of Him who can harm you. There is not one terror to come against you. Not in the New Heaven. Fearless freedom abounds in New Heaven and New Earth. For where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17).
“And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God.” Revelation 21:3
John says, “a loud voice” announces this declaration because it marks a turning point for all creation. No longer will we be separated from God by our physical locations. We will be there, in person, with God, permanently, in unceasing love.
Jesus speaks about the one who speaks with the loud, rejoicing voice over the bridegroom in John’s gospel, saying…
“The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete.” John 3:29
“God Himself will be with them” says the voice from the throne. Keep this promise dear to your heart. You don’t have to wonder if God is close or if He hears you or if He will come through or if He wants to be near. He will be. We will see the evidence of this love He has for us by the physical presence of who He is dwelling there with us. He will not be with us just to oversee the New Heaven, but to be our God, as John describes.
Everything in New Heaven operates according to the Lord and not according to the past order of the earth. So everything will be good, kind, just, generous, loving, exciting, adventurous, encompassing every attribute of God’s infinite mystery. His love rules New Heaven. No more oppression. No more suffering. Only eternal life and love.
Jesus wars for us for a reason in the book of Revelation preceding the consummation of New Heaven’s beginning. Jesus shows up in fierce zeal to end the tyranny of evil on the earth for a reason. He wants the New Heaven and New Earth to arise. Now there will be no more war nor terror. For the Lord will make a new order of things as Revelation 22:4 says, where God institutes perfect peace for all people.
Jesus is coming. Wait for the marriage supper of the Lamb. There, Jesus will celebrate the beginning of an eternity He destined to share with us from the beginning of our genesis. Heaven is where you belong. Heaven is where we call home.
“But our citizenship is in Heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” Philippians 3:20
