Shatter my senses… overtake every brainwave soaking in the detonation of your echo. Your voice blasts like thunder roaring in a typhoon’s midnight. The seraphim surround you to witness the cosmic boom with replies of “holy holy holy” is the King. The Lord Almighty is His name.
Can you enunciate like the Lord?
“Or do you have an arm like God, and can you thunder with a voice like His?” Job 40:9
His voice gets loud. Really loud.
His voice tells the story of His love for me. Rattling with synergy of thunder’s energy. My ears perk up when He amplifies.
“After that comes the sound of His roar; He thunders with His majestic voice. When His voice resounds, He holds nothing back. God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways; He does great things beyond our understanding.” Job 37:4-5
God’s got a cosmic voice of thunder when He opens His mouth.
I like it when God opens His mouth. There’s never anything I disagree with. Everything He says is right on point.
“To Him who rides upon the highest heavens, which are from ancient times; Behold, He speaks forth with His voice, a mighty voice.” Psalm 68:33
The King’s voice carries a royal inflection. A regal tone. An attractive resonance. A combusting detonation.
The King’s voice is a holy voice. A mighty voice. A deafening voice. A loud voice. A soft voice. A roaring voice. A gentle voice. A powerful voice. A strong voice. The one sure voice of truth. The King’s voice goes forth from Heaven to reach you with the heart of His love. The King’s voice resounds with a desire to be heard by you.
The King of creation knows how to communicate with you. He is God, after all. He speaks to you by any means necessary. By His Holy Spirit, His Word, other people, nature, music, life. God aims to reach you with the truth of who His Son Jesus is.
Jesus is the King.
Jesus is the only King who lays down His life for you so that you can be with Him in His Kingdom. He is a selfless King. A sacrificial King. A good King. A wise King. A generous King. A faithful King.
Jesus’ Kingdom is over all of Heaven and Earth. So it does not fit with the norms of the earth in which he came to dwell. He came to dwell in a world plagued with sin so that He could reconcile the broken world through His death on a cross, which cleanses every human being from sin.
Hours prior to His murder, Pilate questions Jesus about His identity and the reason that the Jews, Jesus’ own people, were so quickly handing Him over to be crucified.
“Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But My kingdom is not from the world.” John 18:36
Jesus did not come to earth to establish His Kingdom in the broken earth. He came to save the broken people of earth, so that He cold institute His Kingdom in brand New Heaven and New Earth when He returns for a second time.
Jesus’ first appearance for was our salvation.
Jesus’ second appearance is for vindication and the institution of eternity with Him.
Jesus makes it clear to Pilate what His goal is.
“Then Pilate said to Him, “So you are a king?” in John 18:37.
“Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”
John 18:38 (emphasis mine)
Jesus’ Kingdom is not isolated to the earth itself. It transcends Earth. It is bigger than Earth. It rules Earth. It stands over Earth. Jesus’ Kingdom is of Heaven.
“He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which He is called is The Word of God. . . . On His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.” Revelation 19:13,16
You must know who the King is if you want to live in the Kingdom. Abide in the Kingdom. Revel in the Kingdom.
Jesus wants to know you personally and this starts with knowing who He is personally.
Jesus wants to be known by you and honored for His identity.
“The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever.” Psalm 29:10
Revere Jesus Christ as King.
“A voice came from the throne, saying, “Give praise to our God, all you His bond-servants, you who fear Him, the small and the great.” Revelation 19:5
Jesus honors you when you honor Him.
“The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.” Psalm 29:11
The Lord has power to bestow blessing because He is the King.
Jesus is King over all Heaven and Earth. There isn’t a place where He cannot go or cannot reach. He is everywhere through the power of the Holy Spirit. Everything on Heaven and Earth must acknowledge that Jesus is King.
“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you.” John 14:15-17
When Jesus indwells you, you gain the Holy Spirit who is your advocate in life. He is with you forver and constantly works to connect you to God by your spiritual connection. Your spiritual connection gives you a voice that carries something meaningful. Insight, wisdom, love, strength, guidance, prophecy, power… all come from the Holy Spirit on the inside that prompts you to think about, talk to and know God deeper.
When you understand who Jesus is, you understand who you are. You are the object of His highest affection. The one He opens His mouth for. The one He opens His heart for. The One He opens His doors of Heaven for. Come and enter into His dwelling place where He longs for you to commune with Him. His voice is ready and willing to be heard by you.
The King’s voice speaks to you… listen and follow after His love for you.
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” John 10:27
speak to me
I love to hear
Your voice
talk to me
I love to hear
the noise
flowing from
the forests of Heaven
where Your heart cries
for me to know You
intimately
Your voice
is my serenity
my melody
my symphony
my spirit’s plea
is to hear You
split open the seas
when Your heart cries
like a tornado in love with me
“The voice of the LORD splits the mighty cedars; the LORD shatters the cedars of Lebanon.” Psalm 29:5
